Dorian now Cat 5 approaching Grand Bahamas and Little Abaco.

God help the Bahamas, now a cat 5 storm and predicted to slow even more, only at 8mph now nearing the islands of Grand Bahamas and Little Abaco.

I don't know how many remember Flip Pallot and the Walkers Cay chronicles but the fishing village was in the middle of being rebuilt by Carl Allen.

I'm tracking it at work now. Part of my job is to assess threats to our various field offices around the country. We have about four that could be affected by the storm.

Currently, none are expected to get anything more than a few inches of rain and some higher winds, but, this storm is unpredictable. If I was a betting man, I'd wager that it will likely turn North and weaken rapidly in the next 8 hours with minimal impact to the mainland US.

Of course, the Bahamas are screwed.
