1st Gen Celica, Want To Buy

Hey guys I'm looking for a 1970-1977 Toyota Celica and most search engines are coming up nearly empty. Specifically interested in the 1974-1977 liftbacks.

I'm looking in the usual spots:

Ebay
Cars.com
Autotrader
Craigslist
Classiccars.com
Even on a Facebook Celica marketplace

Apparently there are only 8 1st gens for sale in the entire country right now.

Are there other places I am missing? I should probably add Celica forums to the list. I would actually prefer a non-running example as I'm planning a 1UZ swap for a sort of street/race track build. Just something fun to tinker on. I'm just surprised they are this hard to find considering Toyota apparently sold a decent amount of them.

I guessing that it's because you're looking for a vehicle 40+to 50 years old and a few are restored and rarely for sale but mostly that the others have been long since crushed at scrap yards.

That being said I'm sure there are some still in a barn or backyard somewhere rusting away and considered not worth anything so may never be on the market.

I've been looking there too but they seem to have higher end or higher priced stuff, not really whatI'm looking for.

It's just weird I've never even seen one in real life. Anything domestic of that era or older are a lot more common. Considering its Toyotas first sportscar, and even Jay Leno said back in the day you'd see them everywhere, but they just disappeared.

Yes check out bringatrailer.com look at the sold/ closed results. Nothing active at the moment but the ones that sold brought strong money from that era.

zoomthelist.com or other craigslist search engine.
