Mahindra Roxor

How long will it be until they get sued by Toyota? Looks like an FJ40 grille now.

FormaCar: Jeep legally forces Mahindra to redesign the Roxor; here’s the result

They are actually getting sued by jeep currently. Jeep had sold them the manufacturing license in 1947 without any cavités but now doesn't want Mahindra road legal in USA. Mahindra are amazing off road vehicles with diesel 4 bangers they can only be used presently as ohv because they don't meet the emissions requirements. For $ 20,000 they are extremely competitive. I am buying one as soon as they become road legal cause the pice is going to skyrocket due to demand.

You can buy a pretty nice CJ for 20+k. Or build one. I helped my dad shop for one until he found one a couple months ago. $20k is ridiculous for one of these.

I am sure you can. I saw them at the national western stock show. For 20k what you get on these things is pretty good in comparison to 4x4 off road utv's. 20k doesnt go as far anymore.A vehicle in good condition to start with is expensive.Hours of sourcing parts, body work, electrical, mechanical etc although immensely satisfying never the less equates to time and money' add family obligations and work and projects seem to take forever to complete I wouldn't mind paying 20k for a brand new one if it were street legal. That's just me.

$20k for a turn-key Willys jeep with a warranty is a hell of a deal to me. I think you can even swap in a Jeep grill and have yourself a more authentic Jeep than Fiat can sell you.

Anything you compare prices with a UTV makes it look like a good deal.

You would rather buy a fake jeep than a real one with a V8 for the same price?

90% of them on this page are under $20k. Versus maybe $25k for the Mahindra if the price jumps up when they become street legal.

Classic Cars & Vintage Trucks For Sale - Denver, CO

We drove down to look at this scrambler and its only $23k and it has an Atlas t-case and a Chevy 350 that sounded bananas.

Where do you get warranty work done at on one of these? Does anybody know?

Edit; answered my own question, the same places that sell Mahindra tractors. Makes sense I guess.

Fair argument. Notice their disclaimer though.

I wouldn't call it fake. They have been building Jeeps under license for decades. Some people want a weekend toy without having to worry about every little thing. At 20k that is hard to beat.

I mean companies have been making knockoff iPhones for years. Wouldn't you call those fake? Maybe the difference is Mahindra is "Under License". But they still got sued by the licenser...

Either way I just don't really get the price point.

I still think Toyota will sue them next. That grille design is just as much of a copy as the first one.

I doubt the licensing considered if Mahindra would take their Jeeps and resell them in the US. It can be built under license and still infringe a patent in a different country. I've even driven a Ssangyong Korando. Basically a Korean built Jeep CJ7 under license. Even had an AMC inline six. Plenty Jeep to me.

Maybe they could copy the YJ and go rectangular headlights.
