Question Feral Cat Sleeping on my Tire

Not a mice issue, but a lazy feral cat was sleeping on top of my tire. I don't want to put mothballs on my tires anything else I can use, like a spray on? I despise feral cats.

Just bought some orange oil spray. I hear it works to keep cats away. I'd use the fox piss but I have foxes in my woods already, don't want to attract more. Would be nice if I had a coyote around to kill these feral bastard's.

Yeah man feral cats are good to have around... Unless your a bird. Then it's pretty much the reaper of souls.

Just remember a feral cats most of the time are just a few hot meals, a cot, and pets away from being normal cats. They are just out there on the means streets trying to survive.

Keep the cat around for rats. Maybe you will make a new friend.

If nothing is damaged or destroyed then let the cat sleep there. It's just a tire which is probably warm from recent drive and cat is comfy there. I don't think cat would try to make it into engine bay but check just in case before starting your engine.

Oh no they are most certainly not. The plant I work at had a population of feral cats the went back generations (all the way back to WWII). Those MFs were as mean as the day is long. I'd rather try and tame a Bobcat than one of those nasty bastards.

Many a crazy cat lady got their asses tore up because they thought Mr. Patches was just a few cans of tuna away from becoming a lap toy. Wrong.

Not all ferals are convertible. Just imagine humans growing up on the streets. Only some of them will be mentally capable of being "civilized" back into society.

These are sentient beings, like dogs, pigs, humans, elephants, and dolphins. Domesticating animals can take years if not decades. Sometimes not at all. There are no guarantees with mental health. One life experience is different from the next. Empathy is the first step in understanding animal/human behavior.

For example:
It's easy to write off pitbulls because they can/have killed peoples kids. They like feral cats are a product of their environment. Some pitbulls I have met are the most loving creatures I have made contact with.

I like animals more then people. To include wild dangerous aggressive ones. They key is understanding where they are coming from.

Domesticated cats do that too. I grew up with a mouser. He would take them to the tub and torture them for hours before dropping it at our feet.

I've had a dog that like to rip apart moles.

People like to think their house pets have some huge degree of separation. They don't. All dogs come from wolves. All cats are all descendants of lions. They are what they are. How they are raised and their genealogy determine behavior.

It's not black and white.

Funny you mentioned that. I've seen them play ping pong with a mouse. Also see them climbing tree's to catch squirrels. Never knew a cat can climb up 10ft on a tree. Out of the many I see I have one I call Hunter. She or he buries itself under leaves and attacks birds and squirrels.

I put up lots of chicken wire to try to keep them out of my yard. They do spray and piss allover. I usually throw mothballs around. Ammonia was my next idea.

Hopefully the orange oil works. I don't want them spraying my tires and making my rig their napping area. So a squirt of orange oil on each tire should help.

The worst is at midnight when you're trying to sleep you hear them moaning cause their in heat. Or them fighting each other or fighting with racoons or possums.

I like your thinking. Except, I do like some people quite a lot... but animals are always drawn to me and I like that. Although, I do tend to be very cautious around the wilder ones.

I grew up with cats that were our pets but they lived out side. We were around several farms. My dad drove to the grocery store one day, got out to walk in, and a lady asked "is that your kitten?" One of our (many litters) kittens, about 6 months old, had ridden all the way to the store under the hood of the car (older 70's style you could climb in to work on.) And I had another adult cat that had climbed in to get warm, dad started up the engine, and the fan belt took off his tail and scalped his butt. He never did go out hunting in the fields again...
