Picked my 4th gen up a little sister

Love the 4Runner, but wanted something fun to drive on nice days. It is in lieu of another motorcycle, which I need to stay off those now.

Funny, I got my WRX for the same reason. Something fast and fun that isn't fast enough to kill me or get me thrown in jail, ha! Enjoy the new toy!

My previous sporty car was a Lexus ISF which I sold to buy this 4Runner. Even though I liked that car I haven't regretted it for a minute.

We also have a 2003 Ford F150 4x4 and at the end of the day I am more of a truck guy. But, I have always loved the old British style roadsters and am going to enjoy this car a lot.

Miatas are a blast, so fun to drive!

I previously owned 4 miatas myself -1990, 1993, 1997, and 1999.

It is odd how the NC's are so unloved. They are pretty affordable now, compared to a really good A or B.

Ooh, I still kind of want an FRS/BRZ/86. I wonder what the next generation is going to be like. Are they going to have that torque dip stock anymore? Are they going to go with turbo?

I have driven all of the generations and I like these the best.

To each his own. Apples and oranges. I have driven the FRS and consider it a fine vehicle. A neighbor has one. It is not really relevant to me in a discussion of an old British style roadster. Completely different type of vehicle. If you compare it to my old ISF it doesn't really compete.

For the roadster type of vehicle, I think the S2000 is extremely good. But, the price of them is more than I am willing to pay. I am happy with my choice. These cars are reliable as is, very easy to mod, inexpensive to maintain, and just fun to drive. I have driven very, very fast cars and I do not have any need to check that off the list so I just enjoy it and do have fun with my son doing small things to make it better. Same as I do for my 4Runner and his F150. The real enjoyment is creating those memories for him that he will remember when he gets older. Just as I do with my father.

A neighbor has a '91 with I think a '97 engine in his. Like me is an engineer (except he works as one and I don't). We think alike. He helps me with cars and I help him with bikes. And we both help one another coming up with ways to solve problems without spending a lot on special tools. The other day he helped me devise a way to get a barrel nut off an old rifle that I simply could not get to budge. For me now it's these small things that I find enjoyment in.

I kept my 97 M Edition engine stock, but put in FM cross-braces, better shocks and springs, deleted the power steering rack and bolted in a Hard Dog roll bar and it was an amazing car to drive on the street. I have never understood the need for 400, 500, 600+ h.p. cars on the street when a superb handling car is more usable. To each his own.

A Miata and a 4th gen make a great combo. I’m on my 5th Miata, I love the NB, but miss my NC a little bit.
