+1. My last work truck Was a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. It was in the shop almost a dozen times to "reset the EGR" after it had been idled too long and would suddenly only go 40 MPH. Dealership said "these diesels are not meant to be idled...". Someone should tell those of us in Minnesota that little nugget of information before we buy a truck that we have to drive in February.

The kicker, though, was a broken crankshaft and fuel pump at 46,000 miles. After the repairs, it wouldn't even start. That's when they found metal filings in the engine. Engine replaced, but started losing power again at around 60k. Got screaming gas mileage on the highway (23-25), but was a dog otherwise as far as acceleration.

I'm done with Fiat-Chrysler. Funny thing to me is that from what I've read, FCA got caught doing the same thing VW did with the emissions testing. The difference was that VW admitted it, took their fine, and supported their customers with buybacks. My wife had a Passat TDI that ran like a top for almost 10 years, and were we in the market for a sedan today, I'd buy a VW in a heartbeat. FCA, however, won't own up to it, is still litigating, and won't do squat to help their truck owners.
