3 Gallon 1/3 HP Air Compressor

Thinking of picking this up to inflate my tires after off roading since i can just plug it into the 110v plug of my 19 4R. Seems a cheaper better option than some of the ones that connect to a battery directly. Should only be 300 watts.

3 gallon 1/3 HP 100 PSI Oil-Free Pancake Air Compressor

Am i wrong?

First I couldn't find the wattage rating in the specs....but if it's indeed 300 watts, I own a 4th Gen and the 110V plug only has a 100 watt rating, I'm not sure of the rating for the 5th Gens but I would think it would be the same, that being said I would recommend you read all the one star reviews on that page they all speak of using this compressor to pump up "a" truck/car tire, most said at least 15 minutes to get around 30 PSI for one tire, etc.

I use a similar rated Senco compressor to run my "pin" nailer, which is just a small piece of tiny wire nail for nailing finished cabinet trim, my compressor work for this job but just barely, the only reason I use such a small compressor is the weight since I move it a lot around the homes I work in, I have use it to add air in a tire on job sites because nails and screws are all over the ground at the new homes I work at, when I have to use it I only put in enough air to make it to a larger compressor or to get the tire repair..usually only 20 lbs or so and it takes at least 15 minutes to get that much air in the tire and the compressor get VERY hot having to run continuously to achieve that which will over time or trying to do 4 tires will most likely burn up the compressor motor unless you let it cool off between tires, which could take up to a couple of hours for all 4 tires.

I personally wouldn't depend on this type of compressor for this job, especially a off brand compressor, my Senco compressor costs orver 4 times the cost of the one you're looking at but it's built to last and use continuously but still needs to cool off if it's running all the time, I don't think the one you're looking at will do that as well if at all.

Thank you AuSeeker! Very logical and makes sense. The 5gen does have 100w and 400w (when running) but i guess ill be better off with a Viair 300p or better air compressor. Wish i could find one that can run a long time without overheating.

Saved me 50+ bucks! And some space.
