Quick description on how I came up with this question. Me and my son both park our vehicles outside in the driveway about a foot apart and next to each other while his mother enjoys the 3 car garage that we have. 1 slot remains open because My 4Runner won't fit (roof rack) and my son just doesn't care or is too lazy to park his inside the garage every night when he gets home from work.
Keep in mind that our driveway has no power lines, trees, or any over hanging ledges/structures that would allow any birds to land on within 50 yards of our parking spot. Recently when heading out in the morning I've been noticing quite a few bird droppings on my truck. At first I didn't think much of it but then one day after barely washing the truck the night before, I got bombed more than usual and the noticed that his silver Lexus barely has any. Then I thought to myself "maybe birds hate the color blue?" jokingly. Weeks go by and now I'm paying more attention to it, and sure enough it always had the same outcome. My truck would get bombed and his Lexus barely has any.
So today after catching up on my task, I decided to do a quick search on the internet and low and behold.....I was correct!
"Is your car frequently covered in bird poop? Part of it could be the color your car. A study has revealed red cars attract more bird droppings than any other color. The research, conducted by U.K. car parts retailer Halfords, revealed red vehicles made up 18% of cars marked by birds, while blue followed along in second place at 14%. Green vehicles got off the easiest, making up just 1% of those in the study."
