Jross's Covid adventures

Currently on day 3 of the covids. So far it's not been that bad, more like a "medium" cold. Strangely enough I have no cough or breathing issues.

Anyone else gotten it and not had that bad of a time? Any recommended food or medication or anything?

Went the whole year with no issues. Was sent to el paso and mandatory masking late November. Mid December, wasn't feeling the best, fever and exhaustion. Christmas Eve, lost taste, went to the ER and was diagnosed with the China bug... "You have all the symptoms, so we will diagnose it as covid, no matter what the test results". Was told to take Tylenol for the 103 deg fever and rest. Slowed me down, but wasn't the monster that it's made out to be, but I'm fairly fit with no underlying conditions.

Did you have to go to the ER or was it just "what they did" back then?

How long did it take you to recover?

Thanks mate.
Didn't have to, but it was Christmas Eve, been feverish for over a week and needed to confirm or deny the china flue to notify my chain of command. When i lost taste, was when i figured i would get tested. Two weeks of "quarantine", but over a month to make up for lost gains/strength in the gym. Other then the fever and some minor fluid in the lungs, it was no big deal.

Well, as of this morning (Tuesday) I'm practically better. No fever for 24 hours and I don't have that "sick" feeling that we all feel when we are sick.

Now begins the absurd journey of getting cleared to go back to work. Apparently nobody really knows when you're officially better, and getting tested again doesn't really help because apparently you can test positive for up to 30 days (supposedly).

Of the 3 doctors I have, all of them said different things. 2 weeks, 10 days, "we don't know". Good lord lol

Take a few days and relax. Don't put 60 pounds in a bag and go ruck 7 miles in 30 deg weather... just saying.

My wife and I got covid last January. Fortunately, we only had mild symptoms and only had to quarantine at home. We have been prescribed by our doctor to drink multivitamins, Vitamins C with Zinc, Melatonin, and Vitamin D3. We were also advised to rest as much as we can and eat healthy food during our 2-week isolation.

For anyone still following, I was basically fully recovered after 12 days. No major issues.

I'm beginning to think that a TON of people have major issues mostly from panicing. If you've ever had a true panic attack, you know it can really mess you up.

The one I had last year had me feeling like I was actually dying, and the feeling took 6 months to gradually go away. Very strong at first, but it faded as time went by.

I'm starting to think that people who are decently healthy, but who are so convinced that "covid = you're dead" actually have a severe panic attack that just makes everything worse.

There's many things that made covid dangerous. Starting with the propaganda and the politics, but i agree. Not the big bad wolf it's made out to be. Now burn your mask and be done with it.

It's this kind of thinking that makes me glad I got my second shot yesterday. Now I've just got to do my best to protect myself against it for two weeks.

Propaganda is about the same as a conspiracy theory.

The government pumps military full of vaccines like anthrax that most civs don’t get. It’s to lessen the threat that reality exists. At least anthrax isn’t contagious.

I’m about as excited to get my second dose tomorrow as I am for a vasectomy, but whatever works!

I got Covid in March of 2019. It wasn't bad, mostly a fever for about 5 days, couldn't shake it. However, it did mess my lungs up. It took about 10 months for me doing HIT training, stair climber, 10,000 steps a day, ice hockey once a week and weight lifting 4x a week to get back my lungs. I would be fine walking up steps or walking around, the moment it was more of a strenuous exercise, I would be trying to get air, breathing hard but I never felt satisfied. It sucked. I was doing 15 second ice hockey shifts in the beginning and I would be gasping for air on the bench.

I did have to get double vaccinated, pfizer, my work relies on it and I delayed as long as I could. I got both shots and now pfizer does not want to release data for around 50+ years and all these stories are coming out of different effects not talked about. For myself I'm just going to push in the gym, ice hockey, cardio and continue to train.

Side note, nothing looks better than showing off your guns with the windows down in the 4runner, if you know you know.
