So I have a propane firepit that I use for cold weather camping. Uses a 20lb propane tank. I’ve noticed that when the temp is very cold (mid teens-mid 20s) the fire pit will begin to die down and the flames will become almost non existent. Pouring warm water on the regulator will instantly fix the issue till it gets cold again. Will replacing the stock regulator on the firepit with an adjustable one solve my issue?
I’ve used propane to heat plane engines in much colder temps, sometimes into the negatives, and it’s worked great. Don’t understand why this firepit is struggling other than it being the regulator.
Attached is a picture of the regulator on my firepit
