Black Friday Purchases
Now that it is Thanksgiving day and we have the ads to look at. I was wondering is anyone is planning on a big purchase this Friday, (Nov. 22, 2007)???
I have heard some people camp out Thanksgiving day at certain stores to get the deals. I am planning on buying my first flat screen TV and on Wednesday I noticed that Brandsmart was selling the TV that was on sale at Circuit City on Friday was $200 cheaper, so I went out yesterday and bought it. A Panasonic 42" plasma TV. So, for me no going to the stores early.
Some deals I saw were the Sopranos, season 1-3 for $19.99 at WalMart. Great deals on lab top computers at Best Buy and Circurit City. Some neat tools at Lowes and Home Depot. Can you tell I am looking at guy stuff.
There is actually a forum for Black Friday ads.
http://forums.bfads.net/index.php?si...85b630103db25a
I may go out at 9 AM or so, but I may skip it, since I got basically what I wanted. Post here if you get anything special, or your horror stories from this Black Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving. :yummie:

Black Friday
I gotta work on Friday. Let's hope I don't have to go near the shopping mall (Potomac Mills), even though it is pretty much a given that one of my restaurant customers is going to have an order that needs filled.
No shopping for me on Friday, but I'll be starting soon with Santa's list in hand.
P.S. My girlfriend is Jewish, but still wants gifts on Christmas anyhow. Oy vey!

Man that sucks, you need a day to lay around and digest all that food. As far as traffic going into work, who knows it might be lighter, but it could be a lot worse.

Last year, I went to CompUSA at 9:00 pm Thanksgiving evening and got a good deal on camera memory and photo printers. Unfortunately, all of the CompUSA's in central New Jersey have gone out of business so I can't do that anymore. I am definitely not waking up early tomorrow. I do want to try and hit Circuit City before 11:00 though because they have Mario Galaxy on sale for $15 off.

I got up at 9 AM and went to Home Depot, I got a small air compressor with attachments for $59. I hate checking air in the tires and having to pay 75 cents for doing it. I must say, it was better than I thought. I checked all of my cars and it worked just fine.

Went to Best Buy at 9AM and bought the Nintendo DS Lite Zelda: Phantom Hourglass bundle (with DS starter kit and Over the Hedge game). The Zelda DS lite matches my 2006 Driftwood Pearl 4Runner perfectly.

I had to work on Friday too, but I don't do the Black Friday sales anymore. Now I avoid the mall areas at all costs. There are just a bunch of crazy drivers in those areas not paying attention.

I didn't see anything in the ads that were a "must have" so I just ran errands beginning at about 9:30. Traffic was light so I was almost done by the time we had lunch with friends.
But tonight I did buy a new cell phone, a Motorola V8 unlocked so I can use it with any provider. So that has to count as my "Black Friday" purchase.

Motorola, bleh. I had 2 RAZR's as past phones and they both sucked. My second one broke within a week after buying it and had to send it back for a replacement. I have an iPhone now and I will never buy another motorola.

I bought a few games for Wii on sale, the Wii Shooter and a few HBO DVD's that were on sale for 50% off.
I thought I would never buy another Motorola cell phone after the Razr, but I decided to try out the new Q9m a month ago. At first, I was kind of hesitant and was thinking about returning it during my 30 day trail period. After using it, I really love this phone. The battery life isn't the greatest, but it does everything and very reliable.
