Comcast To Restrict Monthly Broadband Use

The country's largest cable company and second-largest Internet provider said Thursday that beginning Oct. 1, residential users who download and/or upload more than 250 GB of data a month will be notified and asked to curb their use. Customers who exceed the limit a second time in six months will face termination of their account.

Comcrap. Can't wait til they die... Verizon needs to hurry it up and lay some fiber up in NorCal. It's all about Verizon FiOS.

What I hate most about Comcast and all cable companies is that there are no choices for a given area, so they do what ever they want with little repurcussion. Its a bunch of local monopolies and it makes me sick.
I don't like dishes, but I may have to go the dish/DSL combo route, even though I like cable and LAN much better.

Man this sucks. For the longest time we used Earthlink DSL at home and never needed higher bandwidth internet surfing (I do that at work ). We were seriously thinking of consolidating our cable, internet, and phone with Comcast but all the negatives I've been reviewing really deters me from doing so. They are are quite the monopoly where I live and you either get Comcast or you get nothing. Our company (residential property management in downtown SF) is not on good terms with them either. Shoddy service, the onsite techs assigned to our work property are a-holes, they never call back, and at times have been in breach of contract. I guess I'm sticking to old earthlink for now.
