Gas Prices After Hurricane Ike???
I noticed the gas prices really spiked here in GA. Some stations are out of gas.

So what is it like in your area? Any shortages?

I am going to answer my own thread, my Wife just called and said all the gas stations in our town are out of gas, they said they should get more in a week. Wow, this could be a big problem.:awais:

No news of shortages up here, but prices jumped from $3.69ish Friday morning, to around $4.19 by 5pm on Friday and a few reports of stations over $5 a gallon.
Gas is cheaper in Houston, then it is in Michigan. Go figure.

No shortage here in VA, but a pretty good spike in gas. I just filled up the Runner and at $3.81 per gallon when it was like $3.15ish about a week ago. That may not seem like a lot compared to some states, but that's a lot around here. But I did save $0.10 per gallon by shopping at Kroger !

Our Kroger is out, so is Home Depot and QuickTrip, mainly the cheaper gas stations. There are some gas stations open, though. It is around $4.14 a gallon.
Hopefully, it will go down. But, now I see the stock market took a tumble and I heard it is now quite hard to get a loan. I am thinking, selling cars right now will get slower than they are.

~~ Monday, September 15th ~~
Two East Coast (local convenience store chain) stations were totally out of gasoline -- and both only had diesel available today.
Several Sheetz (another chain - competitive to Wawa or 7-11) stores had no gasoline as well. Two Kroger stores reportedly had run out of fuel, but were said to be receiving deliveries Tuesday or Wednesday.
According to news outlet, the "off brand" stations are the last to get their fuel from the same pipelines used by the major brands, and they were going to be charged top rate for the available gasoline. Word has it they decided to "go without" for a day or two, rather than pay top dollar only to have the prices inevitably decline once the refineries are brought back on-line.
There is plenty of fuel available at other stations, but I did notice that the Wawa stores were exceptionally busy this afternoon. I filled up my Sentra and paid $3.79 for unleaded regular.
P.S. If this is not a wake up call for us to expand our refining capacity, I don't know what is!

Our Kroger now has gas, $4.09. Any work on production of gas? I am hoping it will go down a bit by next week.

Well, here in Atlanta things or worse, not better. I had to fill up my car and I had to wait in line. Last time I had a big line to get into a gas station was in the 70's. It brought back a lot of memories I wanted to forget. Gas is around $4 a gallon, but not a lot of gas stations have gas. Our WalMart had some gas, Kroger, Home Depot, BP, Exxon, TaceTrac were out of gas. Quick Trip had premium.
I thought by now, things would ease up a bit, but I was wrong.

Well, I thought this would be over by now. I just got gas and only 1 station was open, out of 10. A QuickTrip, it was a long line, but they had one line and a worker was at the end of the line, or the beginning of the line directing you were to go. Which cut back a lot on the worry of where to go.
I work in a state office and some offices are telling their employees if they drive and they don't have gas they can do some work in the office. Basically it is getting worse not better. Our Gov., Sonny Perdue asked Bush to tap the oil reserves. Of course Sonny Perdue asked this from Spain, I guess he is not hurting. And a lot of people are not happy:
a quote from the AJC today.
"Towery said Perdue
