Damn! Apple over-engineered this sh!t!

I'm hope he made lots of money from the video after destroying a $800 watch!!

Dang it, it looks and sounds so good. I'm still rocking my Series 3 Nike+ and it just won't quit. Going on 5 years now and the battery still lasts 36 hours. It still does all I need it to do with running regularly and daily life, but the Ultra may catch my dollars soon.
Also, got my first Automatic with a Seiko 5 SRPD91 last year and put it on a red Barton canvas strap. I love the watch for the price, but it's pretty entry level. I wore it for a long time and my apple watch sat, but I eventually went back to Apple mostly.

Same story here. I wore my Rolex for a few days but felt “unhealthy” and my workflow weird without my Apple Watch. Rolex never stays on my wrist beyond 2 days before going back into the closet for storage.
Another durability test of Ultra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A72Ckh990j0&feature=youtu.be

Garmin Forerunner. Should probably be the official watch of this forum. :-)

Apple Watch Series 4 dtinless with the DLC coating. Has worn very well with minimal signs of wear. Only negative is the battery. Typically I get 1.5 days ish. A weeks worth or more would be so much better.

I wear a Citizen EcoDrive as a daily and will pull out a $300 Wenger Swiss chronograph for dress up.
If I were to buy a serious watch, it would be a classic Longines, leather band only.

Back in 2014:
“According to a designer who works at Apple, Jonathan Ive, Apple’s design chief, in bragging about how cool he thought the iWatch was shaping up to be, gleefully said Switzerland is in trouble — though he chose a much bolder term for “trouble” to express how he thought the watchmaking nation might be in a tough predicament when Apple’s watch comes out.”
-------------------
Ive actual wording was "Switzerland is fu*ked."
10 years later, Mr Ive is right. Switzerland made watches (Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet) did hit a nice bump during COVID (especially Rolex in USED market), but is now trending down again.

I switch between Apple and Android fairly often. Currently using a Samsung phone with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. But, I've been eyeing the Watch 6 Classic with the rotating bezel. Also have an older Apple Watch 7 in my drawer that I'll likely break out when I (inevitably) switch back to Apple

Watches are a thing of the past for me, my battery died several years ago and has not been replaced. I wear one as jewelry with a short sleeve shirt once in awhile, but that's it.

Casio G-Shock Solar. Zero maintenance!
Wears like iron. Probably spent $60 on it 20 years ago.

the watch...
I have been using an Apple 8 (45mm) for it's ability to monitor, blood oxygen, heart rate, and AFIB. it was recommended by my cardiologist after a successful "catheter ablation" surgery to correct a runaway AFIB issue.
All good after 2.5 years.
