Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Dodge Ram 1500, and Nissan Titan poor/marginal side crash??

Crashworthiness Evaluations of large pickups, February 2009

"Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Dodge Ram 1500, and Nissan Titan are billed as workhorses, but the side crash protection these 2009 model large pickups provide is wimpy, at best. The trio earns either poor or marginal ratings in side tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Even with side airbags, occupant protection in these crew-cab pickups is no better than marginal."
Article From IIHS: http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr021109.html

TOYOTA TUNDRA along with Honda Ridgeline and Ford F-150 got GOOD ratings:

That is disappointing to see...all new cars nowadays should get nothing but "GOOD" in all the tests.

Actually the 2009 4Runner has POOR Rear crash protection.
I can't understand how Nissan Murano and Subaru Tribeca scores better in the rear than the 4Runner.
Ford Flex 2009 is also Good in crash test

Easy...4runner does NOT have Active Headrests for the front seats to prevent whiplash injury from a rear-end collision. Toyota is very cheap in putting these things in. For example, for 2009, the Avalon gets these headrests, but Camrys do not. 4runners and FJs do not get it. I think that only a few 2009 Toyota models have it, which is sad because almost every new car from other Japanese AND Korean manufacturers have it.

I guess the Toyota designers figure that we only carry water, beef jerky and our 50 cal. in the back..........

So what is active headrest?

Does it sense a rear collision and then change the headrests or something?
