It's a 4.6L - 281 cubic inches. Smaller than the original 289 (but makes three times the horsepower).

The GF and I inherited a 96 Tahoe 4x4 with 225k from her dad. He rebuilt the 350 50k ago and has done all the maintenance himself since 105k. It was his 3rd mid-90's Tahoe b/c it had the trusty vortec 350, gotta love that engine! Now it's our camping rig and occasional dump-run vehicle. Still runnin strong with 235k on the clock!
