Any Mountain Bikers on Here?

Just got back from my first trail ride on my new bike (2011 Trek 3700). Was wondering who else on here rode and what kind of bikes you all have.

Here is mine.

Dude! You bent your down tube!! LOL Nice ride.

I used to ride, haven't been on my mt. bike in years and years. My bro used to work at Trek, and got me a custom built (and painted) 8900. It was the **** at the time. It's decent now. I do, however, still have a set of Bontrager Crowbars on it. I LOVE those bars. Never seen anyone else run 'em.

I still ride skate parks on occassion on my HB Dekko. Profile hubs. Fly cross laced rims. Primo hollowbite cranks. 25/9 gearing. I love it.

My bro still rides a custom Independent Fabrication. Now that is a freakin' awesome frame.

96ish Gary Fisher Supercaliber for me alone and a
06 Cannondale Mountain tandem for me and my now 8 year old stoker.

I also have a 94ish Trek 930 and a 91 Trek 430 Antelope...
think that's the right numbers.

I was an avid Mt Biker for 15 years until I tore my ACL- ironically NOT on my bike. Bad advice from a "Dr" led me to not have it repaired- no more clipless pedals... I have a Stumpjumper with some serious goodies (for sale?? breaks my heart) collecting dust. Now with 2 little girls it's hard to convince my wife to let me singletrack ride again. Can't blame her, while we were dating I : Broke my back(compression fractures), tore my face up (126 stitches), broke my elbow, separated my shoulder (3 times) , and came home bloody at least once per week.
It was pure love for me, and I miss it terribly- Good news though, my wife and I both bought some new GT Hybrids Memorial day (both together cost less than my Specialized did in '96, LOL), and I rode for about a half hour tonight. My fat a$$ is seriously out of shape, but it actually brought some tears to my eyes to be on a bike again- then I saw this thread. It was meant to be. I'm back, baby!!

I hear ya. I had to call my wife last year from the local skate park. Being the dumb ass I am, I actually fell into the step up. I totally forgot it was there. Down a 30-40 degree plywood incline that's about 14 feet or so in the air. Right on my knee into the concrete. Broke my knee cap into 3 pieces. Talk about pain. So, she hates it when I tell her I'm taking the kids to the skate park. LOL I'm turning 40 in a few months, but I refuse to quit riding parks!!! LIke I said, I'm a dumb ass. lol

I totally want to get into mtn biking. But I keep spending my money on the 4runner. I've been looking at Cannondales sl3 or trail 5.

My worst was when I bent my front rim in a root/ hole in Tsali. Did about five endo's before landing on a rock. Completely demolished the bike and almost broke my femur. The helment I had was toast! But all the fun of mountain biking is conquering something that you never thought you could. It's what keeps you going!

Let's turn this into a bike crash thread!

Okay, keep in mind I'm 40. I started racing BMX when I was 9. Started freestyling when I was 10 ish. Way back in 1981.

Eight grade, coming home after a day riding my friends half pipe. I had sunglasses on at night. Not a good idea. Went to do a high speed bunny hop up the curb to our condo, and clipped the back wheel. Glasses broke, I still have a scar about 1/4" away from my eye, and my mouth lost the battle with the side walk. Broke my 2 front teeth and the 2 to the left of them off at the gum line on the concrete sidewalk. My hands never left the grips. That was a bad summer. lol

Hey guys reporting from cedar city UT, just got done hitting the local DH track. If you ever make it up this way hit me up and I can show you the local trails. Most of the trails you can shuttle which doesn't help my ever expanding waistline.......... Here is my ride, 2006 SX Trail.

Nice bike, is it hanging out the back window of your runner. Would love a full suspension bike except for the fact it won't fit on a bike rack without a special attachment. Would love to get out that way. The west is one of the places I've never been able to get out to.

LOL- ALmost the same type of deal with my first full day clipless pedal "adventure". Bombing singletrack 15-20 mph, launching over the waterbars every 100 feet or so... WHOOPS! Right foot unclipped, rear tire met waterbar, face met dirt-hands still on grips with both middle fingers bent back to my wrist , and my face drug me to a complete stop. After I stopped, my LEFT foot, still clipped to my bike and bent at an ungodly angle, released and the bike crashed into my helmeted head. I basically riped my chin in half, and the skin above my upper lip to my nose. Had to get a plastic surgeon to fix me... Best part was this from my friend- quote
" Dude, are you OK?! Can I say something without you getting mad? You look so @#$ing cool right now, I gotta take your picture!!"
