Any one know surveillance equipment?

Woke up this morning to a slashed tire on my t4r. $160 and a waste of a day later, I'm pretty pissed, especially since they were Michelin LTX A/T2s that had less than 500 miles on them. Thank god they didn't get the Tundra too! I live on my town's main corridor for idiots traversing between the casino and bar all night long. I'm hoping it was just some d-bag feeling destructive, but just in case its someone with a problem I am going to be prepared. I already moved the vehicle to the other side of the house, so I can unleash the German Shepherd from the bedroom window for an effective attack.

That is a long shot though, so I am looking for a 2 camera system that has a DVR or the capability to download to my computer. Night use is a requirement and I need at least good enough quality to identify a person accurately. The cameras will be mounted about 15 feet from the driveway. I am looking to spend about $250, so if anyone has any expertise, I'd love to hear it. I really don't know much about these things or the different brands. The guys at Costco and RadioShack were useless at best. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have an eBay account?

New CCTV Kit DVR + 4 Night Vision indoor/outdoor Camera | eBay

That's exactly what you're looking for, and it's only 150 bucks.

System comes with 4 cameras.

Didn't even think to look at ebay. One bad experience there like 5 years ago has made me shy away. My only worry is that I don't want to get something and not be able to see things at night or have the cameras do to hell right away. I wasn't really sure who the reputable brands are in that industry.

I, personally, use a series of airlink cameras but mine are all indoors. Most home system cameras are about the same, the night vision is pretty decent.

Are you close to FRY's electronics? They sell an abundant of stuff like this and FRY's is very reputable.

If not, COSTCO and SAM's both have these and they have very good return policies.

Really? Are we talking about the same Fry's?

At any rate, I'm not their fan and I would avoid spending money there as much I as I avoid Best Buy.

But Fry's is like the only electronics retailer that has a wide selection of stuff/crap.

You have camera's inside of your home? If so, any particular reason?

Yeah, I have a couple PTZ cameras. They are mainly for watching points of entry. I'm an I.T. Engineer. I like to monitor the house when I'm traveling, etc.
