Ozark National Forest - Dispersed Camping

Hey Guys! I am making my first trip out to Ozark National Forest early November to do a little camping and hiking. Driving out from Dallas and planning on spending 4 nights out there.

Was wondering if anyone had some great dispersed camping spots they recommended. Seems like tons and tons of blogs but know one wants to share their hidden gems. I've been reading that you can pretty much explore the forest and camp anywhere. Would prefer to stay on established dirt roads versus trekking anywhere too crazy as I haven't really done any off-roading or learned the 4X4 features well enough yet, but hoping to find some sweet spots to spend the night and wake up with epic fall views.

Any recommendations on campsites, hikes, scenic drives would all be appreciated!!

Bump. This looks like an interesting topic. I would love to hear about great places to camp and overland.

Lots of places around the Mulberry River. You can also look out near Erbie, there are quite a few places I have found out there just driving trails.

I was near White Rock mountain and spent a few days exploring. There are quite a few camping spots right off of the US forest service gravel and dirt roads. You just got to keep an eye out for them. I chose to stay at White Rock mountain campground because I was unsure of how camping works on National forest land. I found a few really cool sites throughout that area that I will probably camp at next time.
