Let me be the first to say hello to the Ozark Regional Forum
I'm glad we have these regional sub-forums. We can set up meets and talk about wheeling in our region without distracting from the rest of the site.
-Tyler
edit : We should set up a BBQ meet sometime near the end of the Summer.

Kansas City here....looking to head down to Chadwick for some motorcycle riding this fall....might consider some wheelin in my 4R as well.
I grew up in SW MO and dear hunted in Mark Twain. I remember some fun 4x4 only territory on a fire trail road that ran between the highways that led to BigM and Eagle Rock bridge. Back in the day, we used my dad's K5 Blazer through this area where there were numberous firetrails that led from the main road. Anyone know the area?

I know a few trails behind neighborhoods and in wooded areas all over the northland. My buddy has a CJ5 lifted and 33's, thats what im usually wheelin in. Lookin to get a better 4wd rig like a t4r.... s10's are good trucks but have shitty ground clearance, small wheel wells and open diffs.

Hi Guys... I might be moving near Kansas City, Mo and I was wondering if you guys could provide some insight into the area. How's the weather, cost of living, people, car insurance, and any natural disasters to worry about??
I know it's a loaded question but any information would be great.

Your not going to like hearing this. If you live in SW Missouri and make $75K per year you would need to make $225K per year in NY to have the same standard of living. A 2400 sq. ft. home costs around $175K and the taxes on that home would be only around $1800 per year. The house would also be on a large lot, and very well built and insulated. Gas is right now $1.55 per gallon regular unleaded. Car insurance is very low and the area has some of the most beautiful lakes in the country. Weather? Forecast for tommorrow is a high of 47 degrees and 60 degrees on Sunday. Natural disasters, not on any fault lines. We call it Gods country.

Hey there, new to the forum, gettting my new 4R when I get back stateside in early April. Any AR Runners in this forum? Would like to get more info on dealers in the area and what have you.
BTW, I love this I have gotten a lot of good info from this site and it helped to concrete my decision on a T4R.

Hey everyone, It looks like we are far outnumbered by our fellow SoCAL and New England 4r owners. Im from the St. Louis area (St. Peters to be exact). The only place I know of around here for off roading is St. Joe State Park (Highway 67 near Farmington, MO). It is a park filled with mine tailings from coal mines in the area. I havent been there in years, but ive heard it gets pretty crouded with 4 wheelers and dirt bikes so Im sure it gets busy on the weekends.
My parents live near there, I will check it out sometime when Im visiting them.
People from the STL area what dealer did you buy your 4r from?

Here is a map to the trailhead....It is a dirt fire road and is either the road marked with the red X or one shortly thereafter. I'm sure an up to date topo map would show the area better.
