Nice rig! You need a build thread, details on your lift, tires and rack please... I have a 16 TEP that is stock right now, will have to look for ya, I'm in Beaverton as well.

@munkel , thank you for the compliment! It's very much a work in progress (slow progress... lol), but hopefully I'll pick up some steam in the coming year.

The lift is nothing special, just a Toytec 3/2 (spacers in front, medium duty springs in the back). I've also added Bilstein 5100's to the rear. It's just a temporary solution, while I save up for the OME BP51's. Tires are 285's, although they probably look a little bigger in that photo than reality, due to the wide angle lens I used. Wheels are the black TRD's, which I love.

My roof rack is the latest addition. It's made by PrInSu Design, whom I suspect you've heard of on the Taco forums (sweet Taco in your sig, btw. do you still have it or did your TEP replace it?). I'm very happy with it thus far. It's light, modular and looks pretty dang sexy IMO.

You know, I think you're right about doing a build thread. I've done a few other mods, just finished fabricating and installing my own brackets to install my PIAA's behind my grille, added ditch lights, but... I have a TON of stuff that I plan on doing. Hmm...

What color is your TEP? I'll keep an eye out for you.

I think I should be fairly easy to spot. lol There's a red mountain sticker on the fairing of my rack.

285/75 or 285/70's? I have the same color, will likely be getting the same rack too. My taco will be sold soon, just waiting on a replacement title, then I can spend a few bucks on the 4R, already have a set of SCS Ray 10 wheels in the garage. Just need rubber for them and a lift. Then the fun stuff begins.....

I have 285/70's. I was concerned that the 285/75's would rub and I REALLY wanted the TRD wheels, which IIRC, are 7" and too narrow.

Man, I'd have a hard time parting with that Taco. Those SCS's are going to look sexy on your rig. Can't wait to see them!

as far as wheel fit, 285/70 and 285/75 are the same width (285mm), the 75 side wall is 5% taller (285mm*75%-285mm*70%), but in reality actual size does vary by brand, there's a lot less options for the 285/75 size, and rubbing is more the concern i would say

low angles make them look bigger tho, nice pic!

@codyHTX , thank you for the correction. My memory was a little fuzzy on why I chose the 285/70R17's and it appears I combined my reasoning... lol

The wheel width concern I had, I think came from looking at a different size (305's maybe?). Can't recall now.

Bottom line was 285/70's seemed a safe bet, which also seemed to be the consensus on the forum. It still blows my mind at how much the same size can vary from mfr. to mfr.

I'd love to see what 285/75's look like on a 5th gen. Maybe my search skills are lacking, but I couldn't find any. My 285/70's look a tad smaller than I'd like. Ah well... lol

@TRDPRO is running that size, but also has a 6" lift with king shocks! his ride is badass, here's a post he made recently with his new kings.

Thanks @codyHTX and @PDXplorer I appreciate the comments! I did see another 4Runner with the same size shoes but he replaced his bumpers and had a leveling kit.
