you need a build thread my good man, what do you think of the 6" lift. drop bracket I assume? Still trying to decide on what lift I will go with.

I know, every time I did a mod I thought that was the last one. I didn't realize this becomes an addiction. I went with the 6" DB lift after I test drove 2 FJ's, one with a toyotec 3.5 and one with a a similar setup to mine. I just liked the ride much better with the 6" setup/ The geometry and the lower diff made the difference to me. If you go this route I would definitely go with full length coilovers instead of a 6" bracket. Makes all the difference. That's the pro's. The Cons : you need to cut one of your cross members to lower the diff and bolt on a 25LB bracket to maintain the structural rigidity. No problems with the set up but once you go this route, you are pretty much committed. You also need to find a place to carry your spare 34" if you go with 285/75/17's since it doesn't fit underneath anymore and we needed bits from kits from FJ and Taco's from more than one company to get it to the way I wanted.
I'm sure the ICONs and other kits work well for others, I just liked this setup better and having 90% CV angles, plenty of room for the suspension to drop without tugging was a preference for me. This works for me but not for everyone.

Post pics of your 4Runner
New to 4Runners as of 2 months or so ago. Just had Toytec Boss Ultimate (2.5 upgrade in front) lift installed Friday, and new wheels and tires on Saturday. (And Sunday, lost the rear left center wheel cap already!)
Would love to find a group for easier trails(Spouse would kill me if I scratched the paint yet or anything worse! I get 'the look' now when the tires rub since alignment is scheduled for Friday
Used to wheel in my 94 Nissan 4x4 in Spokane/Couer d'Alene area, and beat the crap out of it! Jumped it a few times, snapped the cheap nissan shocks, misjudged a little jump and went nose first into a creek, messing up the radiator.. Have to be nicer now with a $50k vehicle
Anyway, would love to see more people active in the Portland area.

FNG Here. First T4R: 2000 SR5 TRD Supercharged
Picked it up over the weekend. Documented service history. SUPERCHARGED! I don't wrench, unfortunately, so taking it in to dealership for 100k supercharger "maintenance". $800 job. Said they had to pull off SC entirely to do the work (i.e, drain and fill). I have no idea if that's all there is to it. But I want to keep it running another 100k+ miles.
Any recommended shops for SC work? Not sure if I need to do the 7th injector + pulley mod. Seems to be running strong and smooth.
Hoping to see some of you out there on the road/trails!

Nice find. Is it the 1st or 2nd gen? Does it have 100k on the SC?

2nd gen, I believe:
Truck and SC has 125k on it. SC was installed by dealer when purchased new. I have no baseline comparisons for what it's "supposed" to feel like. It pulls strong (for me) with no pinging noises. Has SC whine, but SC sounds "chattery" at idle. Not sure if that makes sense. Appreciate any insight!

That's the 2nd(or 4th technically). Those are easier to maintain and rebuild than the first. If the blower has 125k on it I'd do a full rebuild not just put $800 to change the oil in it. You probably don't need any fuel mods and I'm sure it runs fine, mine doesn't have any fuel mods and has no pinging, it starves a little at high elevations but that's not a big problem around here. A little clatter is normal, but without hearing yours I couldn't tell you. Rebuilds are normally recommended around 100k miles.

The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread
This is your go to thread here for everything 3.4 SC related, if you haven't seen it there is a lot great info in there. Typically people send their SC's to Magnuson to rebuild. Not sure if you can have your truck down for any amount of time, but rebuilds are usually around $500-$800. The SC is easy to remove and put back on, could probably help you with that. There are a few of us around the Seattle area that get together for meets or trail runs, stay tuned to this thread as well:

Thanks for the SC link and the maintenance meet! Lots of great info. Funny, I've called around numerous Toyota dealerships in the Greater Seattle area, and 90% had no clue about a 100k service on the TRD SC. They kept trying to get me to the major service at 120k! Anyways, the dealer where the SC was originally installed is adamant that a simple SC oil change is all that's needed. We'll see. Hoping their work is guaranteed. I'm trying to throw money at these guys and they have no clue. Scheduled to go in Fri. Will keep y'all posted!

I'm in Beaverton, OR as well. There are a lot of nice rigs close by! I've got a stock 2006 SR5 4WD. I'd sooner than later like to go to some mild off roading trails, hills, descents, not really looking for rocks. Anyone have anywhere they'd recommend?
