Central Oregon Off-Road Day (Around Bend, OR)

Sorry about your rig. That definitely looks pretty intense.

I don't have sliders or underbody plates besides stock, yet. So my wheeling may be limited, however I'd like to join y'all.

So, Fred Meyer around 9-10am this Sunday??

I would be good for a 10am, at Fred Meyers.
If any need OHV stickers for Cline Butte, get them before hand.
Not sure if you can get them on a Sunday?

Its raining a tiny bit! Yesterday and today, looks to be wet all week. Finally!

Good call on the permits. I'd spaced that out completely - it's been too long. If you can't get to one of the local vendors, you can get them online here:

https://store.oregonstateparks.org/

Print out the temp to carry with you, the permanent sticker arrives in the mail

Or - local vendors: https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/ATV/page...t_vendors.aspx Thank you, Backoff, for the reminder! Bring on the precipitation!

Cline is has enough bypasses and "Green" and "Blue" trails for people to not have to worry about that. There will also be people who have off-roaded some before to help spot you through obstacles.

@BackOff

Since Cline Buttes is close to Redmond, should we rather meet up at the Safeway in Redmond or Fred Meyers? I figure Fred's would be best since people can get snacks, gas, and anything else they need.

But then everyone would be convoying at least 20~30minutes to Redmond and then probably another 20-ish to Cline Buttes. I figure it'd be probably at least a 30~45min wait/talk shit at the parking lot waiting for everyone to show up, another 40 or so min travel time, which would put everyone at Cline around noon. It's not super difficult, so I don't see us being there all day long, I'm just trying to make sure we don't burn too much day light like we did on Sunday. lol

My vote is Redmond Freddy's - There's a Starbucks on the NE side of the place we could kind of congregate there @ 10.

That's close to 126, and there are a couple of gas stations right there.

My vote is hardly relevant, but that works for with Cline as destination.

I'll be the guy in the 4Runner.

Weather channel... it looks like there is a major storm rolling in this weekend, 70mph winds, big rain event.
If you guys want to hold off 1 more week it wont hurt my feelings any...give BlackWorksInc some time to get his runner rolling too.

Guess it will just make it more of an adventure, however we play it is fine with me. Mud could be fun but driving over the pass in a hurricane wont be very fun or safe if trees are coming down.

This time of year, I'm good unless I'm out hunting, which I usually only do during the week.

So next weekend works.

That much rain sounds like fun since my 4R is still so clean that you could eat off of the undercarriage.

I need to work on that!

BlackWorksInc - is your rig right? What was the verdict, a spindle issue?

I am still good with this Sunday the 16th. 10am Redmond, Fredmeyers, maybe get into some mud for a change around here.
I can go next weekend or whenever if any want to wait till after this storm system.

Was actually pretty fun last Sunday even with the mishaps... I was probably slowing BlackWorksInc down, it was really technical and challenging, a set of 285's might help some. I think I shifted in and out of 4x4low more that day than I have in the last 10 years.

Hope your house survived, the wind kept me up till 3:30am.

Anyone heading out? Since I am still stock (Dunlop minivan tires, etc) I don't dare go solo, and it looks exceptionally crappy out there.

I've got a hi-lift, shovel, straps, etc, but I am old and lazy and would rather just beer someone to pull me out.

Next weekend is even better for me if no one can make it tomorrow.

PM and we can swap phone #'s

Right not like this storm is the nastiest since the Columbus day storm 1962...

Maybe not really great idea driving over the pass, could be down right dangerous. 986 millibars right now

I will still head to Freddies. No one should feel obligated to go, with this storm, we can try it another time no worries.
