I doesn't have to be the situation above, it's just the whole idea of being overpowered and have your own gun turned on you.

Personally I don't judge anyone who drives with a gun, I don't because I'm fortunate to live in an really safe rural community but I could see the need more in the city.

Honestly tho, i'm slightly alarmed at the amount of people who do, I really hope there's a lot police officer on this forum but either way I'll think twice about cutting anyone off when if take a trip into the states
This line of thinking is what really scares me, and is very inexperienced. I’m a former United States Marine and I can tell you there are a million different scenarios with a hundred Million variables all changing in seconds. Nobody needs a gun until they Need a gun, that’s the point. So this simple mind thinking of IF Jane Doe is overpowered is absolutely ridiculous; what IF Jane Doe saves her life, her kids life or your life? So the What-If factor is really not important.

I always have a gun in the car, so I love the feeling of security and control over the situation. I am also a hunter and often have a gun in my trunk. But the feeling of control appears not only from carrying weapons but also from the ability to use them. I became a more effective shooter after I mastered scopes from bellachy.com Thanks to them, I shoot accurately even at very long distances and win shooting competitions. It helps me to be more confident on the road, as I know that I can protect myself and the people who accompany me at any time. In our days, it means a lot.

i live in new mexico and open carry is pretty common here and your car is an extension of your home---so your allowed to have a loaded weapon while driving. ccw permits are easily obtainable and there is no restrictions that i'm aware of for magazine capacities.

i could'nt help but notice how the pandemic changed so many peoples' minds on guns, millions of new first time buyers standing in lines for blocks at gun shops.

when the shtf all the academic bs goes out the window.

Do you drive with a gun?

Yes. I moved to Colorado from Kentucky and in KY it is not required to have a permit to carry concealed, but the encroaching communists of Colorado’s front range have made sure you need a permit and will no doubt make another move to criminalize guns very soon.

While I am not a gun nut who thinks a gun should be in arm’s reach at all times, I do think it is wise in a car. If you are not familiar with guns, get a .38 revolver and shoot it a few times. Good to go. I recommend a S&W 442 or 642 with no hammer to hang on stuff. It’s especially good for people who aren’t super savvy with guns.

I would consider myself more liberal than conservative. But I also carry a Walther PPQ M2 Q5 Match on my molle panel on the center console. I wish that more people would vote their own personal morales rather than tow party lines. There is plenty of good and bad in both parties.

The problem is that most Americans have their morals defined by politicians. Asking people to think independently is too much. And those of us registered independent are seen as radicals by both sides, because they’re so GD radical. If you aren’t on the fringes with them, you’re “the other side”. It’s really pathetic and sad.

Why I always carry. I enjoy going out and take photos and often times I will have $5-6,000 worth of camera gear with me. Recently I stopped off to capture the moon rising behind the Denver Int'l Airport on a road on the west side of the airport. It does not dead end any where so you can use it to basically cut through. There are no houses or businesses even remotely close. I was parked with my camera set up all alone and no one near by to see anything going on. A truck with 3 ‘kids’ sped by me heading north. I thought nothing of it, they were just cutting through. Until a few mins later that same truck had turned around and coming back the other way to pass by me again. There is nothing up there so why did they go up the road then turn around to come back so quickly. Its a long road so I can see them in the distance speeding back towards me. As they got closer I went to the passenger side of my car opened the door and made it obvious I was reaching in my glove box. They drove by much slower this time and thankfully continued on their path not to be seen again.
Did they have bad intentions circling back, who knows. Would I have got in a shoot out with them if they stopped and got out, most likely not. Just having the protection and the threat of the protection hopefully is enough to keep me out of a bad situation.

Free State

I think int's interesting that even people who have basically the same opinions vary greatly on lots of details. Guess that's why we live in a free country.
Living in a free state means I can carry concealed, so I do. All day every day everywhere. I try to make sure no one ever knows. I never leave guns in the truck if I can help it.

Yes! I made a Kydex holster to carry my Springfield XD-S in the center console. If I’m in the backcountry I’ll take my Little Badger .22 and my Remington 870. I always keep a fixed blade Ka-bar in the truck and carry pocket knife.
