Highest Mileage Toyota in your Family
Take 2
Saw this on another forum and thought it would be interesting. We've all heard stories of the milk man's high mileage Toyota but for creditability lets keep it in the family. I also used miles because that's what the majority uses.
My highest would be my mother's 96 Corolla which was at 388,000 miles when the connecting rod blew thru the block. However, it would have lasted longer if she was more religious with oil changes and if all three kids hadn't learnt to drive with it.
EDIT: It's "Take 2" cuz mid way thru making the poll portion of my first try I had to leave for work and when I returned it wouldn't let me continue with adding a poll. Sorry for any comments that got deleted in my first attempt

I've got 410000 km, or 255000 miles on an 86 22re 4runner. My mechanic who lives far away in the middle of no where who needs to drive far to get anything, has 900000 km or 560000 miles on a V6 Tundra. I'm surprised there is any cloth left on the seats.

These are some pretty impressive mileages but it would have been nice to hear the story from the person who clicked 900,001 + miles!

My father in laws 96 tacoma with the 3.4 V6 is at 310,000 miles and still going strong. A new clutch, rear main seal, carrier bearing x2, and normal maintainence is all that its needed. I should say that he is pretty cheap and does not care about prevenative maintanience. He fixes it only when broken and even then he sees how long it will go broken. I swear if my runner doesn't beat his tacoma in miles I'm going to be so pissed just because of the way he takes care of the truck.

Toyota family history!
I am currently driving '97 with 309,000 miles. (from my dad)
My dad has retired the following:
'92 Corolla wagon-201k (From HIS dad)
'72 Carina- Odometer turned over twice, then stopped working with 74k showing.
Various early/mid '80's Tercels- At least 2 over 200k (from HIS dad)
'87 (IIRC) Van (School Bus yellow... hated that thing!- 210k
I have owned 2 '85 MR2's, LOVED those cars, only got a little over 100k and had to get bigger cars.
Also had a '05 Corolla, traded in with 115k.
Love this forum. Thanks all
