What really matters is cost of living expenses. Salary numbers look impressive until you find out they live in Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, New York etc. where the COL is insane.

Mechanic, offshore oil and gas industry. However, I only work half the year on a 14 day on / 14 day off schedule. Without bonuses, cashing in PTO, or any extra OT (d/t facility conditions, for training to maintain licenses, etc) during the year, I make just North of $165K/yr (though typically it ends up being $185-210K/yr).
My wife works for city government in the utilities division (just over $40K/yr), even though I try to convince her to quit so we can travel more on my days off.
We live in South Louisiana, where the cost of living is relatively cheap...but I could live anywhere and still do my job.

Yep! I never thought I'd be making the current salary I'm at, however living in SoCal completely gets wiped out with COL and student loans

I'm an Assistant Principal at a high school and my wife works as an instructional designer for Amazon. Coupled with my disability from the VA, we do pretty well. Live in Northern NC, so COL is pretty low.
* And no, I'm not embarrassed that my wife makes 3x my salary lol. Always seems to pop up.

Telecom industry. Been outside and inside at a desk, too. Married single income the W2 came in at $160k past few years but it’s the overtime that really makes up about a third of that.
Mortgage is only $700/month (all-in: principal/interest/taxes/insurance) so there is a bit of a budget for a fun vehicle.

I make between $150,000-$175,000 in Law Enforcement and as a military reservist, but it doesn’t go that far living in the suburbs of Philly with 1 income and multiple kids.

Unfortunately a decent combined household income in the bay area California feels poor still compared to many other states.

Ok I'll play.
Wife of 42+years out earns me by a significant margin. She is a Senior Account Executive for a company that consults and designs benefits programs for companies that dont want to mess with that in house.
Me, I'm an operations supervisor for an environmental services company.
Nearing retirement, together we drag in 200K ish yearly, depending on bonuses. Dual income, no kids at home.

I am employed by Toyota/Lexus Corp. Work at a local dealership in San Diego, Calif in the parts dept. I work all 3 counters; wholesale parts, retail parts, and the technician counter.
25 years now.
I get to do a lot of research on my runner, and discounts are very nice.
$80K a year, wife works at the Animal Vet hospital as a surgeon at $90K a year.
