Hey I have 2!!!!
I tried to vote again Since I now have 2 4th Gens. It would not let me.
It has been a couple years since my first post on this thread and from signature you can see I finally got my SE 4x4. It doesn't have a V-8, But I am very happy with it. I would have liked a V-8 but did not NEED a V-8. Anyway I was just looking to skew the poll a little more.

My 6 cylinder VVT has all the power I will need and I love the gas mileage.

Both I and pops have 06 runners. My v8 4wd gets an average 15-17 mpg. My pops v6 2wd gets a nice 17-21 average. Wish I had that mileage but I'd rather have the v8 pwr. I can tell a big difference since I drive both on a regular basis.

I have only had my 4Runner for a few weeks now, and silly me... I did not realize my v8 was full time four wheel drive. Nice!
It helps too that my work commute is all of 3 miles.

I have one of the rare 4x4 4cyl models. The gas mileage is great but man is it slow! This little engine is lugging around about 2 tons, and it just about begs for mercy at the end of the day. hehe Great little workhorse though. My first Toyota ever and it's growing on me.

Ditto. I see 2nd gen everywhere here. I just happen to be the lucky one with the four banger and in no hurry to get anywhere with that thing. hehe In the PAC NW it's almost a must to have 4WD and I see Toyota's everywhere. They're almost like locusts!

What do you mean by full-time? I thought I could disconnect the 4WD on my '03 V8 Sport Edition/SR5. I realize that it is different from the 3rd gen, though, with the stick.

3-liter v6 4wd..
honestly down here in TN, i have yet to see any 4x2. Well, except in a few newer gen's. Never seen a 4cyl 4wd! (except in tacoma's of course). Most everything is v6 4wd and sometimes a v8 will show up. I wouldn't have a v8, even if you gave it to me though.
