Glock 45 MOS will be my next purchase. I have a 19 and it has been a great firearm. They are not fancy, but I do like my Glocks.

Best carry is the one you do carry.

What I would like to carry and what I do may be 2 different things. I spend as much thought on ammo as I do on weapon. I have an M&P Shield 9 but brand new they are crap. The triggers on the things should have been a red flag to S&W but they apparently didn't care and included no mules or bulldozers to help me pull the thing which feels like dragging a bag of rocks over a bed of nails.

Modified they fill the role very well. I also find it is not the manufacturer but the specific gun that is the best.

Energy on impact vs weight and size of weapon vs number of rounds vs comfort vs expense.

Last but not least you have to hit what you are shooting at, meaning you have to shoot the thing meaning you have to afford to shoot thing and have to be able find ammo everywhere.

Sig P365. You can carry the damn thing with gym shorts, board shorts, you name it. Double stacked conceal carry with 10+1 or 12+1. During colder months, I'd go with a Glock 19.

We flew to St. Petersburg Florida for vacation January. We have some family down there that we visited with plus I went on a hog hunt with my nephew.

We rented a VRBO with a pool. My nephew in-law (who is my exact age) loaned me a rifle (308 Weatherby) for the hog hunt.

Since Florida recognizes my Missouri CCW License, I flew with 2 pistols. My Glock 19 and Ruger LC9S Pro. I practice regularly with both and can accurately hit my 25yd gong with both.

I mostly carried the LC9S Pro in a pocket holster w/ spare mag. Wearing cargo shorts the gun disappears. Profile in the pocket looks like a cell phone or wallet.

An untucked button down short sleeve shirt conceals my G19 carried OWB well enough.

Hog hunting was fun - I shot mine at 25yds through the heart and lungs. Our guide's dogs were on top of it and didn't let it run far after being hit.

We're planning another trip down for this next January. I'll be driving the 4Runner and will bring the same 2 pistols plus a rifle of 2. Building up my own hog rifle slowly.

Note - last pic is biscuits and gravy made from the hog I shot.

Kimber Ultra in 9mm but not CCW. Never felt the need nor do I have the body fat necessary to actually conceal it in any fashion in which it is readily accessible.

My "preference" is to not need to carry.
Seems the rest of the World doesn't agree.

Whatever your choice, be sure to practice with it a lot. Practice your draw. Even little things will trip you up. I no longer own any Glocks, but they are good carry guns. One of their best features is a lack of front cocking serrations which serve no function other than to create friction when trying to clear leather. I like almost everything about my PPQ and VP9SK, but both would be improved without front serrations.

Given the 2 choices, I selected the G19. Primarily for the extreme aftermarket support (cheap replacement wear parts, magazines, and customizing).

The true answer is...it depends...on you. You have to shoot them to see which is more comfortable and which is more accurate in your hands. Your body size/shape and hand/finger size will determine what you can carry/conceal and grip/shoot comfortably.

I've carried everything from 1911s to Glocks to M&Ps to CZs, even Revos (though mostly just when hunting, and that one is a S&W 610). I shoot a LOT, probably more than most on this forum, shoot at State/Area/National championship matches, and reload in serious bulk...I've tried a LOT of different platforms over the years. I ended up going back to what I like (a DA/SA pistol) and carry a CZ P07 (though in the winter when heavier clothes are worn, I carry my SP01). However, I'm not exactly a small guy (6' 2", 230lbs) and the P07 looks like a subcompact in my hands, so your experience may be different. If you're still open to different brands, try a CZ P10C if you're stuck on striker fired pistols. If you're willing to try a DA/SA, look at the P07. Both guns are excellent shooters with excellent ergonomics.

If you need something smaller, due to your stature or the inability to conceal something G19 size, look into something like the Sig P365 or Springfield Hellcat.

Sig P365 Frankenstein.

P365 with P365XL grip module. For those of you with adult-sized hands that still want a fun-sized gun. The XL grip adds just enough height over the 365 that I can grip it comfortably while retaining the shorter barrel length. Also adds a larger beaver tail. $60 upgrade to a P365.

A 9mm steel frame EAA Witness.
Great ergonomics, durable, affordable, accurate, and the weight reduces the already minor recoil of 9mm.

Or you could go polymer, all else the same.
