Hi folks, the 5th gen 4runner has been out there for more than a decade. Although there are quick a few significant upgrades, such as the debut of trd pro in 2015, the infotainment systems upgrades in 2020, the backbones of the truck remain similar, if not identical. Nonetheless, 4runner sales went skyrocketing high, with a sale number of more than 139k in 2018. Owners absolutely love its boxy style and old-school feel.
On the other hand, the fuel economy and infotainment systems are much out of date. Although the 2020 model partially fixed it, 4runner is still missing many techs that can be seen on many other trucks and crossovers, which are even significantly cheaper than 4runner, such as the blind-spot monitor, parking sensors
, birds-eye view... With that being said, do you think Toyota should totally redesign the 4runner to boom the sale? Or keep the look and powertrain but keep on upgrading the infotainment systems. If yes, when do you think this should happen? Please write down what you think briefly if you can. Thanks for participating, and I hope you all enjoy the debate.
