How far different would you go - need feedback

Maybe its just me but I like to be different
The mods I have seen so far in these post are normal regular stuff for most part (and nothing wrong with that) but have not seen any of those SEMA crazy mod types that makes me say wow when I see them.
Granted the ones that are are mostly the SEMA Tonka truck builds with the 6 wheels and lifts and stuff so maybe I'm more of a Tonka Truck lover?
No not really, I still bought my 4Runner and happy as pig in s..t Just to clear that up cause I know there are haters out there sometimes and yes I can still appreciate the simple things in life. But I still like to be really different.
There are other mods to come with it which won't necessarily go too crazy after this.
So keep an open mind with the theme. For the haters, I don't mind if you tell me you don't like it, just don't be nasty about it. All comments welcome
So unfortunately it's winter here and the Runner is dirty for now. And the scoop is just sitting on the hood so u can see parts that are lifted.
You need to use ur imagination and disregard those areas and picture the scoop in Gloss Black like vehicle. I might even go with the Black chrome colour for the Rhino logo and the side and middle grill but all gloss black will work and you can just imagine that here.
Thanks in advance for your comments

Talking

You have the piece and want to be different.
I think you have your answer.

Are you planning on selling it?
If yes, then others water-down your idea because some may adopt it to be like you.
True custom work is done once, and replicated if anything.
(Not cookie-cutter)

But, also, you do what you want as it is your vehicle, like these guys.

Wait... Limited/Nightshades have hood-schkoopsh?

I never noticed on mine. I guess maybe I should spend some time with it.

I really like how the LTD's/NS's look in the front.
Classy. Me, I would not put that on... Maybe another model.

Well yeah, THAT one doesn't have a scoop. But who's to say you couldn't use it on ANY 4Runner?

That kind of answers my question and it doesn't. lol
Some of those examples you show are really crazy like that rear wing which makes me think that this could be really seen as out there.
I'm not that crazy yet. The hood (I think) has some niceties to it) so just trying to find out if others might see some beauty to it
No I would not sell it for sure although if I think it won't work I will need to sell the scoop (if anyone might be interested in that, you can let me know)
Tx Cheers

Ya I agree it's classy and I do like it as is also but I have this need in me to make it look different.

If I don't do this scoop I will likely go with that GT 99-04 type scoop (see pict). It only raises 1 1/2 inch high and I want to put my bright red SS badge on the side of scoop. ( I seen that scoop in Picture gallery here and it looks good on the Runner)
I think I am trying to make up for my younger days when I had my 91 454SS Chev Truck. What can I say

Personally, I’ve never been a big fan of cosmetic add-ons. Functional ones, such as lifts, performance enhancements, wheels and tires, etc., I can appreciate many of those. But to me personally, cosmetic adds almost always look plasticky. My two cents.

Ya that's cool. The old debate of functional vs cosmetic. Seen a lot of debate over it.

I'm good with either or mix of both.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.................. but still curious what people might think of this approach especially folks that might be more into or open to some cosmetic touches

Tx for chiming in

I don't think it's really a debatable thing. People like what they like. If you like cosmetic stuff, go for it. A lot of people DO like those things, or there wouldn't be so much of them. It's not like my preferences are better than yours, or vice versa. They're just what we like. Different is cool. I do want to see pics as you go along. And as for that hood treatment, imagining it as you describe might look really good.

Ya cool
For sure will update at the end of the build as the finishing touches will be done same time frame but will be about 4 months from now when warmer weather comes in.
