Now that's a

"come hither" look if there ever was one. *sigh*

But then on second thought, she looks like she's had too many oxycontin pills.....

Paris Hilton couldn't look that sexy with all her videos.

Earth shoes. Yeah, that was in the 1970s though. Had that plus my platform shoes and BIG BELL bottom that could hide a family of pygmies. You had to slash the bottoms of the bells with a razor so thay would really fray out. Too bad I threw them out decades ago.....

Wow! Look what I started. 22 replies already.........and tons of great material. I haven't even had time to read it all. I hope we get more people to take the survey. Looks like we have a pretty good variety of ages so far with 32 votes cast.

You forgot 19.9 cents/gallon of gas -- full service. When service really meant something.

When you could leave your house unlocked and everything would still be there when you got home.

When neighbors looked out for each other.

Leisure suits (shudder).....

Computers that used punch cards.....and having access to a computer was a novelty.

When IBM was associated with typewriters....

Motel 6 at $6, with pay TVs just to watch the two or three networks they received.....

The Flintstones at night -- first run...

George of the Jungle (and not the movie)

Who shot JR?

And TVs that had a knob to change channels.

Watching the news broadcast when the local station switched from black and white to color.

And the town was small enough that the weekend news anchors were a married couple that sometimes showed home movies of their kids to fill up the half hour.

I quit counting birthdays at 29!

The torch has been passsed...

Hosted dinner for family and in laws at my place Xmas and Thanksgiving......I was cooking morning, noon, and night for days.....full breakfasts for everyone, then start on dinner, clean up dinner, plan for next day's eats.......

I tell ya, it ain't easy being Martha Stewart.....

Consider it an honor and a priviledge that the torch has been passed to you as the head of the clan.

23 people and you have a work detail.

8 people and 3 cats they all sit around asking when do we eat?

8 is just enough to over load the stove so everything has to be cooked in shfits for meals. I want scrambled. I want over easy, I want medium but not runny. I want over hard but not burnt. I want soft boiled and runny.

SHADDUP!

You're going to get what I can get out and there will be no *****ing or moaning. I want one line and one line only. When you get served, you will go straight to the table and start eating. There will be no seconds and you will bring the dishes back to the sink. Am I understood?

I can't hear you!

You will stat each repsonse with a loud and clear "SIR!" and end with a loud and clear "SIR!"

Am I understood? "SIR, YES, SIR"

The only FOUR responses out of your mouths will be Sir, Yes, Sir; Sir, No, Sir; Sir, no Excuse, Sir; and "Sir, I do not understand, Sir!"

I knew those 3 years in the Army and watching Mail Call with R. Lee Ermey would be useful.

"Take that turkey leg out of your piehole and stand at attention, maggot!"

Now that's the way to run dinner for 23!

Talking about eggs ever which way. I found an egg casserole recipe that can be assembled the night before or done the same morning and it was great!!! Made things a LOT easier in the morning. Fills a 9"x13" glass dish and tastes even better with Pace chunky salsa!! It's got 1/2lb of chunked ham, same amount of cheese, 8 eggs, green onion, parsley, etc. It was really good. Yeah, I like to cook.

I think this WAS the practice but I'll keep that in mind. Always nice to know your friends are ready to pitch in and help.

Oh yeah, to keep this on topic for the "real" old farts, how about,

"Gort . . . Klatoo Barotta Nictoe, Klatoo Barotta Nictoe"

Easy... The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) Dir: Robert Wise

Helps if you're an old sci fi geek...

When you work from home, there's always just one in the building.....

Mork....what a character that launched a career.

A dress up day when working from home is putting a clean pair of underwear on...

Robin definitely has talent... I think the golf bit he does is piss in the pants funny...

Reminds me of my geezer days in Army Airborne School in Fort Benning Georgia.....no we did not use track suits nad jogging shoes. It was fatiques and black leather boots and it better be shined up each day after being in mud nad gunk the day before....anyway, the best was this black cap yelling at this poor trainee, "Who told you to stop huh? Who told you to stop. When I tell to drop, you'd do it till I GET TIRED!"

23 years ago and I can still remember my student jump number C-142.

"Charlie One For Two" drop and give me twenty.
