oooooh....vera nauuce... I think I might debadge the sides of mine. I like the toyota and 4runner on the back, so I might leave them. ya know...it lets the people who are behind me know what they are being smoked (or towed) by.... :D

TranceKrayz 08-02-2004 10:21 PM

wow it looks really good! i'm considering debadging mine, but i think i'd only take off the "toyota" in the back.

slyangel9 08-02-2004 10:27 PM

it is so much cleaner now...i hated the way the rain water left streaks under EACH letter. It was madning. Even after i washed the car, the streaks were still there. I used Bug & Tar remover to polish the area. After a rain soaked weekend, there were no visual marks left. Not even an "ghost image".

Looks great! Now I'm considering taking 'em off the sides. That white sure does grow on you after a few pics. Not too many around here to compare with. Perhaps in the future as I've never owned a white vehicle but it looks damn good on a Runner!

i took mine off today to paint, and man, my fingers are torn up! either from that or all the wheel painting i've been doing lately.

your white truck looks very nice and clean!! :)

Thanks for the pics... Looks great!

Now I definitely will debadge mine...

to prevent blisters and the skin on your fingers, I suggest you use a rag (scratch free of course) and bug and tar remover ($3.00). This will help clean up the small adhesive.

use heat gun and wiat till it starts to soften the adhesive and gently peel those letters. finished it off with a 3M adhesive remover to clean off excess residue. then wax it.

I used dental floss and hair dryer. Then for the left over adhesive I used Goo Gone and then wipe with water right after.

At this time of year and in your area I don't think you need any extra heat. I just simply pulled mine off with my fingers. I started with dentil floss but it was easier just using my fingers.

what if people think you are driving a Suziki, or a Kia??

Using the dental floss, do you just get the floss behind the letters and slowly pull across the badge to separate it from the car?
Thanks.
