For DD runner owner

gas is getting expansive and i feel like driving my runner on pavement is putting way too many miles on what eventually is going to be a trail rig, so im looking for another car to be a dd.

So post pics of what (realistic)car you want as your next DD

for me i want a hachiroku aka toyota corolla sprinter ae86 trueno

i just want a plain stock one with no mods, like this one below but without the jap letters and the carbon fiber hood

I'd go with a plain 2011 Corolla if I needed to get a car, but I really hate driving cars. I sat in a Tacoma today and I want one. I'll drive it everywhere, I swear.

:roadkill:

Why not just get a motorcycle and use the 4runner when the weather is bad? (instead of consistently buying and selling them?)

I think everyone already knows what my next DD is, and partially currently is.

I say just get something that gets ~35+ mpgs. If you're gonna do it, do it right. I had an '05 CR-V (hated that little POS) for a DD for a while. It only got about 23 around town and my 4runner gets ~16. It just wasn't enough difference to justify a car payment.

Although in my case, I bought it from my sister for cheap so I sold it and made ~$2500 on it almost a year later. She wanted to trade it in and I bought it for what the dealership offered her. My next DD will be a ~'99-02 standard cab 4x4 4 banger Taco. The gas mileage isn't great on the Tacos, but I would be buying it for hauling stuff around, not so much the mpgs.

If price wasn't an issue only mpgs i would have to go with a diesel 3 series BMW or a diesel Jetta. I was hoping that ecoboost motor in the new f150 could pull better mpgs than they currently do. I've actually been thinking of buying my dads dd, an 02 Honda civic. I don't know why, but I've always thought a turbo'd pinto would be cool in a total sleeper sort of way.

i think im too big for a ruckus, and from riding 750cc sports bikes to 100cc scooter i think i'll go mad, very cool picture and ruckus tho

I agree with brian about doing it right. I would have to go with a small car like my old 99 corolla. I drove that thing for 4 years while in college and I loved getting 36 mpg on the freeway. It was a 5 speed as well, so a lot mor fun to drive. I hated driving a car, but loved spending $30 on gas every 3-4 weeks. Right now my 4runner is not modded enough and too nice to retire to a weekend warrior. I will get a 1st gen for that. But I would love to pick up an older 2wd toyota pickup just to use for dump runs and driving to work and back.

Dude...get a Geo metro. There cheap to own and low maintaince. I drive one and its sweet. Gets like 45 but u can get a xfi edition that'll push 60 MPG if u do a few mods. Join a Geo metro forum. They got alot of cool cars
