What bump stops are you running?
Hey guys,
Saw some post but most were old or a specific one. What bump stops are you running for both front and rear and how do you like them? Normal rubber bump stop or hydraulic bump stops? I'm using Wheelers Superbumps up front and rears are Durobumps.
Haven't gotten to test the rears yet. Fronts were an immediate difference to me. Control arms would actually make contact with the bumps with my lift rather than not at all with stock bumps. When I install the new setup I will have the same lift with 6112 in the front and Icon 2.0 IFP with 1" Eibach springs in the back. Hydraulic bumps is overkill, and I also run airbags so hydro bumps are a no go for me. FYI, airbags also act as bumps also....so I won't give up my airbags lol. I would have gone with wheelers in the front, but i'm a cheap skate bastard if i can get away with something more value oriented. IMHO, anything is better than stock. If you take a flashlight, and look at your front lower A-arm, you will see a impact mark at STOCK height...that was enough for me to upgrade. Basically, you will be happy with anything squishier and taller than stock, since they are designed to compress. The OEM front and rear's don't compress at all, thats why the toytec extensions w/ oem bumps suck so bad. It made the rear feel even worse. Only difference between all these aftermarket choices comes down to is price. |

Wheeler's SuperBumps up front and ICON hydraulic bump stops in the rear (in coil setup).
Pros: Superbumps: decent price, works great at softening harsh impacts ICON: works great at softening harsh impacts or when carrying heavy loads over bumps, adjustable height Cons: Superbumps: large enough to almost always be on contact at stock or mild lift. I'd prefer something shorter to allow the suspension to do it's job ICON: $$$, location in the rear coil is not ideal. pics 1&2 are front superbumps. Pic 3 is ICON hydro bump vs stock bump stop. Awesome guys! Thank you. Was thinking of getting the wheelers but wasnt sure. I'll definitely look into energy suspension. Running 3inches of lift with stock bumps stops and well...they need to go. My rear is especially stiff when going over speed bumps etc

I contacted DuroBumps and they have tooled a shorter version for the rear, for those of us doing 0”-2” lifts. Not up on their sight yet, I am going to email him back today to find out the status. I will post the reply. I am dong a 1” lift in back with Eibach springs, so these would be perfect
