Quickflate
Saw a couple reviews on Morrflate, but seeing if anyone has used any other brand of the 4 tire quick inflate/deflate. I was looking at Runnin 4 Tacos QuikFlate.
Since the compressor mounts in the engine bay are all the way to the left or right, any issues with inflation? All the brands say to have the hose centered in the front of the vehicle to help with leveling the pressure among all the tires. |
I have a Morrflate, but have not had a chance to use it yet. I am still finishing up my compressor install. Regarding the hose positioning, there is no effect on pressure leveling regardless of where the hose is during inflation. All 4 tires are going to reach the same pressure as long as they are all connected. The big thing to watch out for is to make sure you inflate on a level surface with all 4 wheels flat on the ground. If one is sitting up on a big rock while it fills, then you cap it and drive off of that rock, its pressure is going to drop a little bit (not much, honestly).

I just finished making my own 2-tire setup (well, copied a friend exactly, basically), and like said above, hose length/volume will determine equalization, not the actual placement. But should have equal length hosing, and then run a line from the compressor to the setup. And i'm placing in center more for convenience. I have a basic hook to hang on the hood latch, and the rear hatch handle when in use.

4 hoses plus a compressor hose seems like a lot of stuff to deal with on a trip.
IMO - Put an air line fitting near the front and one near the rear and use one 15 ft hose. You will have to go to each corner and do them separately but it's not that much extra time. To deflate, I use Trailheads. Walk around, install one on each wheel, then go back and get around again and take them off. My co driver does two each way. I use a CO2 tank which gives 30 second fill ups from 15 to 36 so it's quicker than a compressor. |
