Gullwing door panels
I wish someone would make Gullwing door panels for the 5th Gen. I have seen these on Land Cruisers for years and I can only imagine how useful they would be on the 5th Gen as well. I have reached out to three different companies who make them for other vehicles in hopes that they would consider making them for the 5th Gen. Would anyone else care to have these on their 4Runner?

Does our quarter panel windows have heating elements inside of them, that would be a reason that would stop me from purchasing them.
A few years ago, someone floated this idea on this forum but it died out due to loss of interest. |
We already have a back window that drops. I can see this as being an option for those that sleep in the back and need a cross breeze due to excess gas being emitted by the occupying human(s). :painkiller:

I don't know if those windows have a heating element but they do have the radio antenna built in.
Cross breeze for those that sleep inside and just overall ease of access to the cargo area would be nice, especially for those running bumpers with swing out carriers. A lot go guys run them with built in shelves for quick access items such as recovery gear, cooking materials, first aid, battery recharge station, etc. |
someone made it as far as a prototype but I don't think they ever brought it to market, the actual opening size was pretty small

With the roll down rear window, this isn't going to be as high a priority to many as it would be on other platforms where the rear window doesn't roll down. |
I'll just leave this here.
On board with this when it comes. Worth it alone just for a cross breeze. Might an interesting place to mount and air pump behind a molle panel with access being granted via the panel door. FYI they will prob cost 1200-2000 for a set. |

It looked good. But he said he had a few other vehicle to do first and development in general takes a lot of time. Patience is the name of the game here. |

I'd love to have Lewmar or similar manufacture them. They make some very nice products for boats with almost no external hardware.
