Full set 3rd Gen hand-crank door panels + window mechanisms available in Norcal

I got an email alert from CL this AM and thought I'd share it here. The seller referenced a 2017 t4r.org thread about these 'unicorn' items, but I don't see this set posted for sale here. Fun to think about and a very reasonable price all things considered.....text and link below. Someone should snap them up! They are in Napa.

"EXTREMELY rare feature on a third-generation Toyota 4Runner. Almost no 4Runners come with manual-regulated 'crank' windows. The extreme rarity of this feature makes them super desirable. Here are two links to T4R that illustrate this point:
Found a Unicorn - Manual Window 3rd Gen
This is odd.

These came with my 4Runner when I bought it, but I personally prefer power windows, so I swapped them out. I have working regulators, crank handles, and door panels for all 4 doors, making installing these into a 4Runner very easy.

That’s me. When I bought my ‘99 I was very surprised to find out that the previous owner had gone to extraordinary lengths to convert his power windows to crank. He wanted to be able to lower the back windows while sleeping without having to turn the key in the night. I prefer power windows, and converted back. The manual ones work great and I’ve posted them here before, but have gotten little to no interest. Let me know if you are interested.

Ok, cool - I figured the seller (you!) would have some connection to the forum here. I am really surprised that no one snapped them up, however. I have always liked crank windows, but realistically, I'm not the person to tackle the whole conversion job. I do like the previous owner's reason and hadn't even considered that benefit. I do sleep in my rig sometimes when camping and it would be nice to have a single manual rear door window for that reason. Maybe someone local would want to split the set with me?

Probably not

Good luck with the sale!

How to remove the door panels with cranks handles?

I am new so I can't create new posts. My apologies for piggy backing on this thread.

I have one of those unicorn 3rd gen 4runners 5sp with no ac and crank windows.

I found a tutorial in 2010 on how to remove the crank handle to get the door trim panels out. (There was some trick spring behind the crankhandle it seems like. Too many concussions so I CRS these days). I got them out and installed new speakers and got them back on.

Iirc , it was tricky but not too frustrating. Now, one of those speakers has rattled out of the mounting screws and is slapping around inside of the door. It is annoying AF.

Long story short, I can't find instructions on crank handle removal.

Apologies.

My memory is so bad that I was just reminded that I bought the factory service manual.

Picture in case it helps any future window cranker.

*the technique in the manual is far easier than the one I found online uears ago*
