Auto Door Lock Question

I searched but couldn't find this exact issue. 2003 V8 Sport....when the ignition key is turned from ON to ACC (door remains closed) all the doors unlock. I've reviewed the instructions in the manual multiple times and this isn't even a function it mentions...let alone how to program/cancel it. Has nothing to do with the gear lever position etc. I'd like the doors to remain locked when the key is moved from ON to ACC. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

This is entirely speculation, but:

Maybe you have option D set there, and a less than fully functional door sensor? If the driver's door sensor was intermittently showing open, even for a fraction of a second it'd probably unlock once the key position was changed.

Thanks for the idea. I also thought of that and checked the functionality of the cabin light turning on and off with the door and that seems to work fine. I'm sure it couldn't hurt to replace the sensor.

This. I'm thinking option B is closer to what the OP wants.

Actually, no. I don't want anything to happen with shift lever position or ignition key position.

Look at the last sentence in the manual attachment a few posts above. The lock behavior can be toggled on and off.

Nope...you can only toggle something off that has a process to be turned on. There is no process shown to turn it on in the first place.

Sigh. Read it again. Or read it for the first time.

I'd suggest checking if there's any aftermarket alarm or keyless entry system installed. Sometimes these systems have their own quirky behaviors.

If that's not the case, it might be worth taking a peek under the hood (figuratively speaking) – check the wiring around the ignition switch and the door lock system. A loose connection or a worn-out wire could be causing this mystery unlock.
