OEM cross-bars bolts went missing, need help with replacement

1 Attachment(s)
On each side of each of the factory roof-rack cross-bars are two bolts that seem to hold the bar portion of the cross-bar to the attachment point that slides on the rail.

On my front right side, two of those bolts have disappeared. I don't know if someone took them out or if they just back themselves out. Now there's a rattle from rack and I don't have a lot of confidence in attaching my cargo box to it.

I went to the dealer and they told that I have to order a whole new set of cross-bars. I thanked them for their assistance and left.

Does anyone know if there is a part number for these bolts or what size they are? Pics attached in case my description wasn't clear.

Thanks!

Till you find the exact replacements, I'd recommend spending $1 at Lowes/HD and get bolt to hold them in.

A customer pic for the crossbars mentions part number: 401871 for the accessories/bolts. Perhaps give that part number to the dealership.

Thanks. My research shows that these are M6 wafer-head screws that require a T25 wrench. I just don't know the length but I'm guessing 10mm.

Take one out and bring it to Lowe's. They have some fitments you can use to help find the right one. As long as you ask, they are cool with opening up a package to compare.

You can probably buy a replacement from McMaster Carr. They have a lot more varieties than Lowes.

Local Ace Hardware had the right bolts with with a Philips head and not Torx. And it was actually T30, not T25. I also added a lock washer to it whereas the OEM bolts seemed to have some kind of a lock-tight on them.

If you do decide to find oem replacement bolts, let us know in the thread. Im sure there will be others looking for this info at some point. Me personally, I'd be good with the ones from Ace. Out of sight, out of mind.

If I may resurrect a dead thread, I was having this same issue today myself and came across this thread doing a Google search. I found the part number: 90148-A0012, the description in Toyota's parts database is "Screw, Hexalobular."
