Outgear Solutions -Any experiance?

Hey guys - looking for anyone who has had recent experience ordering from and dealing with Outgear Solutions, I really need my mind to be a bit more at ease with them.

I placed an order for a rear swing out bumper for my 5th gen a couple weeks ago, and I've already experienced the less than stellar communication issues I've seen others talk about on Reddit.

I absolutely love how the bumper looks. It looks solid, well made and the price is very reasonable. The problem isn't in the quality of their products, I've seen nothing but rave reviews, but more in their customer service and reliability in whether or not you'll get your product, from a few reviews I saw.

If you've ordered from them in the past 6 months and had to have your items shipped, how was your experience? Did they ship on time, or did they give you the run around for weeks telling you just a little bit more time. I've considered cancelling my order a few times now due to their communication issues in just the few weeks I've been waiting. But - I really want to trust them and hope I will actually receive my bumper in the time frame they said they could have it done and built the way I've requested it. :noidea:

I swear, it's like pulling teeth just trying to get a response from them, and usually I only get half of my questions answered.

many of their negative reviews are the same issues you bring up. poor customer service. I don't buy the excuse of 'we are a small shop and we are really busy/ not enough people' nonsense. did you pay up front? or do they charge when they ship?

Im all for supporting the small shops rather than the big corporations but damn that's your hard earned money you're putting on the line. is their bumper worth the headache of an undetermined wait time and poor customer service? cancel your order, get your money back and keep searching. their swingouts are like $3K aren't they. hell of a lot of $$$ to drop on good faith that they will actually produce the product and ship it in a reasonable amount of time

communication and honesty is not really the strong suit of offroad fabricators.

Do everything you can to protect yourself. I have gotten lucky, but alot of people weren't so lucky.

Well, their customer service rep FINALLY started communicating a bit better and gave me the answers I needed. Now it's just a waiting game as to when the bumper ships out, supposed to be done sometime in May.

I did pay up front, like most places have you do, but the price is very reasonable, especially for all the positive reviews I've seen about these bumpers. I ordered the half swing out bumper, with tree savers (rear quarter panel armor), a drop-down table and including the $250 shipping fee and 5% military discount, it came to under $2,400 dollars. You really can't beat that too many places, especially for good quality.

So, with my questions finally answered, at the moment, I will wait for now. We will see how things look come this May...

Well, their customer service rep finally started communicating a bit better, I got my questions answered and finalized my payment with the extras I wanted added on to the bumper. I've decided to try and have some faith with this company and wait, see, hope and pray it all turns out better than expected. I've always been lucky as well (knock on wood) and hope the same happens here!

That's what I've read a lot, that he's a small shop, but have heard nothing but good reviews from the locals that pick up from him or had dealings with him. I've decided to give them some more faith based on these more positive reviews I've seen and hope everything turns out for the best. Time will tell! :clock:

That's all we can have is faith. He's been around for a long time and know several people that's used his services in years past.
but your only a month out! your rear is going to look good.

(i've been debating with going with Nguyenworks rear bumper or total chaos lower control arms to dial in the front end more.)

Yes! I'm excited, I hope it truly will be ready next month, that would be pretty epic!! I've wanted a full rear steel bumper since I got my rig 4 years ago. I've run the Rigid Armor rear hitch drop-down tire carrier for about 2 years now. While it was a great affordable option for carrying my 35" spare, I'm pretty tired of dealing with it bouncing on the trails and the pain of dropping the tire every time I need to open the hatch.

Nguyenworks was my second choice in rear bumper! I like the sleekness of it and the great clearance it gives. My only worries when I look at it, is the lack of steel between the bumper and the bottom of the hatch. For me, I come down on some rocks and rough areas where I off-road, and I plan to make it out to Moab in a couple years. I'm worried I would hit that bumper hard and it bend into my hatch. The thing I liked about Outgear's bumper was that extra steel bar of protection for coming down on drops. The steel tubes also looked more solid on the swing out tire on Outgears vs Nguyenworks as well. But! This all just depends on what you plan to use your bumper for. Either way, they're both great looking bumpers.
