For Anyone Living in Dallas Area (close to Toyota of Dallas)

Hello. If you live or work in Dallas area and happen to be close by intersection of I-35E and I-635 (i.e. close to Toyota of Dallas), they have some parts specials until the end of year, most notably oil filters for $5 (also have brake pads and windshield wipers on sale):

I'm new to the forum and just trying to get in my minim post so I can post on this forum. My personal feel in dealer discounts on whatever they are selling are not really a good deal when you can purchase these items online and have delivered to your door and most of the time you can get free shipping. For me I would probably have to live across the street from the dealer to make it worth my time to purchase there.

Yep...indeed! Point taken, but one just has to hope/assume that people out there are not goofy enough to spend $10 to save $1...if that's the case for an individual, they have bigger issues than any rando piece of advice they might read on the Interweb...right?

In this case, though, that intersection (35E & 635) is so central and well-traveled (I know I pass by it at least once a week), and when I looked at the Toyota oil filter for my car on Amazon when I first saw the offer it was about $(10-11) (w/"free" delivery), and I also called Toyota first and asked if I could get four and they said "yes", so the economics worked out OK for me...I also got a free cup of coffee from their waiting areas, so...ka-ching!

I do see now that there are some offers out on Amazon that I would have probably opted for instead. Because of New Year? A flood of knock-offs? Enterprising urban youths took down a delivery truck and are now selling them online for "food money"? I don't know. All I can say is I was happy with how it turned out for me as I am set for oil changes for a couple years now, and at pretty good price with known Toyota quality filters. I hope others benefited in same way.

Anyhoo...welcome to the forums! I hope you find them as useful as I have :--)

Is this program still applicable? I wish I knew about it sooner
