JD Fabrication Lower Arm Pivots

Anyone done this yet or plan on it? I think I'll take a stab at it next year for 35" tires on my 4Runner. Simple enough to do and can use stock lower control arms. Just cut off your lower control arm mounts and weld these in, allows for up to an inch movement forward.

Here is a bit of an update. JD Fab now makes a specific kit for the 4runners and FJ Cruiser to relocate the lower pivot mounts.

Very cool! I love the trick items that people come up with to solve various problems. If I had unlimited funds I would put most on "just because!"

This would fit the 4runner?

This is very interesting. Solves a couple issues. I think you could do the same with modified control arms instead, but the price on this kit is pretty decent. Cheaper than LCAs and it appears to be pretty easy to install too.

I don't see why it wouldn't. They have the same front frame section. The only tricky bit will be if you have KDSS like me. But I'm going to push that all forward as well equal to what I move the lower bit forward. They have a upper control arm to go with the lower pivot kit as well to really dial in the caster. But yeah, I'm definitely going to give this a go next year once I'm finished my Tacoma build.

Upper control arm.

@canadian bum and I are talking with a guy that modified the kit to fit an FJ. Its possible from what it sounds like, just some minor differences apparently.

good to hear!
my shop does a lot of custom fabrications and welding. i'm sure they'll figure it out. i get mots of my 4runner work and all my raptor work with them.
i'm already running 285/75r17 with only a bit of noise in full lock reverse. this should give me more breathing room.

Looking forward to seeing how everything works out. I want to fit 35s without cutting the tub or anything plus fix caster. I'm definitely not shy of fab mods and custom. Just would like to keep it to a minimum and maintain road driving.
