I HATE your wheel choice.

Not sure if all this hostility is serious. Can someone fill the noob (me) in?

275/65/18 At full lock, they don't rub by a quarter inch. I have not pushed forward the fenders

The old guys are yanking his chain lol. Trust me, it's hard to type sarcasm in context. Also, you needed to be around when Danny asked about 1 bazillion tire questions and we thought we would have to call in Sheldon or at least Walowitz (he only has a masters in Eng from MIT) to answer them. I think he had four threads running at one time, or was that WindomEarles? Anyway, looks really good Danny!

All very true and embracing, though I really needed to learn as much as possible before making the right decisions. I think its closer to 6 threads :hiding:

Most everyone on here was helpful though and I'm learning, slowly. At least I know what an offset is now and what backspacing is. Thats a huge step in the right direction for me. Thank's to Bobby.

Really though, there's no need for that level of Sarcasm (not talking about you 1engineer). If you don't like what you see, move on. I don't regret any question I asked, it was/is a learning experience.

So when is the black chrome of the wheels joined on the trim and door handles? There's no way you dont have plans for what's next!?!!? and BTW.. why aren't they dirty yet :p :roadkill:

Okki

Nice set up though! can't believe that's fitting in there without some help! hahaha yep.. that's what she said!

DannyLlama 08-06-2012 03:02 PM

Thanks Okki! Your Tire selection inspired me :).

Can't really go that far from the house as we are expecting any day now. Due date is August 12, which also why I haven't had time for much and probably wont lol.

On another note - here is my favorite mod so far -

http://hadibege.zenfolio.com/img/s1/...64485998-4.jpg

The fifth tire (spare) was lodged under the knob and ripped off when i took out tire LOL. I thought it was funny.

Hardrunner 08-06-2012 03:28 PM

Looks lowered. Raise front 1.5 inches. Will look so much better. Unless you like that look and dont take it off road. Also on that rim you can stuff 285/65/18 without rubbing if you move liner forward. THEN it will be sweet.

white-knuckle sliders

I did loose about 2.5" ground clearance with the white-knuckle sliders. I plan on doing a minor lift at some point, once I can get some cash and time.

I love the fact that I didn't have to trim or really touch anything with the sliders. Hopefully I will regain some of the ground clearance at some point.

Some pics of the white-knuckle sliders :

I also wanted to add that I did not have to touch the trim, if you can see from the below picture

Here are the U-bolts holding the slider, John made sure to leave a space for the XREAS cables.

I was definitely making fun of his wheels because, as far as I know, we're the only 2 running these on 5th gens.

Too bad we weren't closer, a side by side would have been pretty cool!

Qjake 08-06-2012 08:24 PM

Finally! :reddance:

Honestly I thought we would have seen hell freeze over before Llama got wheels and tires.:lmao:

And seriously it wasn't 6 threads it was more like 60 threads and like 6 months but looking at the end result I guess it was worth it.:boink:

Looks really nice Danny, ya done good bro!!:bravo:

If you do end up rubbing the liner where you pointed out just heat it up with a heat gun and push it back a little bit. Also I'm thinking a little bit of lift will pull it all together :thumb3:
