Trails outside Dallas?
There is a possibility of moving to Dallas in the future. Does Dallas or anywhere within a couple hours of Dallas offer places to trail ride/off-road?
I'm from NC and have lived in Nashville for 10 years. I've been spoiled with places to ride.

Plenty of places around. Check out this link
DFW Chapter of TX4WD
People on the FJ forums have done get togethers at Barnwell Mountain and Bridgeport. Those seem to be the most popular.
You can also drive on the beaches in Texas so if you go down to the gulf there's some fun to be had down there as well.

Notice the distances in that link. There is not a whole lot here. Lots of private land. Only a handful of small off road parks. The closest real terrain and trails are Arkansas and New Mexico.

Sorry I missed this. The best place nearby is in Bridgeport OHV, just NW of Ft. Worth. I've been there about 6 times .
A great way to get connected with other Toyota off-roaders is our Dallas-based club called Toyota Trail Riders. We meet on the 2nd Thur night of the month at Papa's BBQ on NW Highway near 35. The club does at least 1 off-roading event a month, plus an annual Toyota Jamboree out in Gilmer, TX at Barnwell OHV.
I have photos here of some of the events:

There's also a new park south of Ft. Worth near Tolar. Turns out the land owner goes to my church. He and I have chatted about the trails. I need to get down there and check it out. Here's their website:

I appreciate the reply. My wife and I are heading to Dallas from Nashville, TN in the next couple weeks to scout out a place to live. The company I work for is in Deep Ellum. I've spent most my time, when in Dallas, around Sunnyvale and Mesquite. What church do you go to?
Thanks again

Wow, nice facility. It's like a small city there. I use to play in a Christian band that played there a few times, years ago. We also did a couple student conferences and retreats with the youth group. This was between '03 and '05.

Cool. I like 89.7 FM here in Dallas. Lots of Christian hard rock music.
Prestonwood has 3 campuses. Plano is the main one. We go to the north one in Prosper...much, much smaller.

Nice. I was at the Plano location. (A bit much for my comfort zone, but great people.)
Maybe we could meet up one day for a ride. I have a slightly modified 3rd gen and a trail ready FJ40. My wife has a stock 4th gen.
