is Tundra brake Upgrade = Sequoia brake Upgrade???

are the calipers for the same years of tundra's and sequoias the same?? assuming they are 231mm/13wl?

could the TBU(Tundra) be also considered the SBU(Sequoia)?

I am using Sequoia 13WL calipers, so I say yes.

Forrrrest 02-20-2014 01:04 AM

you work at toyota?...

how much are these calipers brand new?
do you know the part number for the rebuild kit?

cdrewferd 02-20-2014 01:14 AM

Yes. My 13wl calipers came off my mom's 04 Sequoia right before it was totalled. That's where my rims came from as well.

idk part numbers off the top of my head, they were something like 400 a piece when i looked them up for oem. i know rotors and pads are the same numbers. And calipers if i remember correctly

shootmymime 02-20-2014 03:05 AM

i looked at some on one that came into the shop and it was not 13wl. it was like sv7ltc some crazy thing i cant remember, just remember it started with a 's'

slapdappy 02-20-2014 03:41 AM

yup

yes. My 13WL's came off a 2002 Sequoia. I bought a caliper rebuild kit and ordered new toyota rotors using a 2002 Tundra vin.

Ya, I priced them a few months ago and they were around $375 each i think, before tax. Personally, I think buying used and just doing a rebuild on the caliper is the way to go. I got my calipers from a wrecking yard, both factory toyota 13WL for $90 for the set. Then bought the rebuild kit for around $45 I think. Still need to buy rotors for $180(going with a set of stop tech slotted), but total I'm going to be in the brakes for less than $320 total. Not bad for factory calipers and upgraded rotors.

I'm very happy about this... I JUST saw a sequoia in the junk yard!

Just make sure to look that they are the 13WL ones before puling them off. They could also be the S13WE ones as they came with both just like the tundras had two caliper options as well.

I shall make sure. Thanks for the heads up.
