Oklahoma/ Eastern Arkansas Trail Runs 2014?

Some friends and I went out to Gruber a couple weeks ago and had a blast! Now I've got the bug big-time! We were supposed to hit Disney tomorrow, but weather changed those plans. :frusty:

Anyway....If there are any Okies out there that want to hit the trails in the next several weeks/ months, let's get something together!

A group from our Dallas-based Toyota Trail Riders club just did an event in Daisy, OK.

I did an overland trip through the forestry roads in Ark/Ok last Fall.

I've been hoping to do something like that and building my rig accordingly
Did you do the K Trail or Ouachita NF? Either way....let me know next time you go!

Can you PM me some more info on those trails? I will likely be moving back to OK at the end of this year.

Yes! Actually, from what I can tell, Camp Gruber ORV Park and Cherokee WMA are within a short drive of each other but not the same. We went to Gruber and I have yet to check out Cherokee. I'm actually wanting to go back and hit both on the same day. BUT I would not have found Gruber without your info. So, I owe you a beer or too when you move back to OK. My iPhone will only let me post one pic. I'll post more when I get home.

Anyway......I found this channel on youtube. This guy seems to be in the area and has some awesome vids of local/semi local trails..... It looks like this one is in the Ouchita NF. He's also done the K-trail. I'm thinking about contacting him for some help on routes.

I've been down most of those trails. There are some cool river crossings at CWMA.

Did a little research and I think I found a good route for a K Trail run. Anyone live in the area or done this before? Any feedback on the route?

Overland

I would love to get out and wheel in that area, especially after I saw the write up in Toyota Trails.

I'll keep watching this thread to see when y'all schedule the meet.
