Rear Trim Panels

I am trying to install a trailer wiring harness on my 2000 4 Runner. Instructions say to partially remove rear trim panels to access lights. I have removed the only screws I found. Is there a trick to get these out?

Start at the bottom corner where the sill plate for the hatch connects, pull gently till the clip pops put and continue working your way up gently popping each one out.

Once you get a clip or 2 past window level, grab the panel where it goes around the bottom of the window and lift up slightly and pull out, once those hooks are out, just continue pulling the clips out around the outside of the panel until you can pull it far enough to get in there.
