Hi I'm coming from 2007 FJ cruiser in to 2014 4Runner Trail and decided to make a build thread for it especially that I never made one for the FJ.

Our first trip happened the first week of ownership. 400 miles on odometer we went for FJNortheasters Turkey Trot/Toys4Tots Drive at Raush Creek offroad park.
I was glad that FJ was my ginny pig as it was slippery and stock tires didn't perform well at all. Other than the weather it was good times. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...56ccd96061.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...792d83e6d0.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...095e17cf8d.jpg |

Relocated rear reservoirs because the tires were rubbing them. Also installed beefy longer rear swaybar links

ICON should really call better attention to that. i've seen a number of pics of them installed improperly, but can kinda understand why: attaching that bracket to the frame blind (behind the rear body panel) is a real PITA, accessibility-wise, but once it's done the CDC adjusters are still easy enough to reach. rig looks good. |
Thanks
@sandcrawler
the kit didn't come with directions so I just slapped it together until I figured it was mounted in the wrong place lol

Extended diff/locker breathers in to the jack compartment
Attachment 152956 |
Im doing that this weekend... but running them up to th eengine compartment. I have seen them blow out inside a rig.... not pretty!
|
Have any more pictures of the relocation of the breathers? I need to do this soon and weighing my options on how I want to do it.
And with the LT rear got to go sway bar less to get the full use of the travel. Even with the new links they are WAY stressed. But on road they should be good. |
@mikey's2010SR5
I do not, basically run the hoses through the round rubber grommet in the jack compartment, I used AOB kit 4 Port Diff Breather -Air On Board, you will need double sided barbed hose fitting 1/4 " to tie in the e-locker hose with the hose provided with the kit.
As for the sway bars i didn't have them on my FJ and the ride was ok, 4runner is pig and now i tow trailer with it so they're staying on, I migth look in to the quick disconnects for the rear and a "frankenstein swaybar diconnects" for the front (i've seen some company in Cali do them for the FJ's ) |

great work on the rod holder...I'm looking at doing something to hold my rods on top as well. Wonder if I can do something with the stock rack. I notice people use ski/snowboard rack to hold rod as well.

Love the rig and love the name:surfer:
