"New" 3rd Gen from NC

Hey all,

Just purchased a '96 SR5 auto from a buddy of mine over the weekend. He and his dad are the original owners, but they sure did drive the hell out of it. 372k on this puppy. He bought a camry since he didn't need a truck, and I've been looking at them for about a year. Gave it to me for $400, so I can't complain.

Had my mechanic look it over before hand, and he thought I was joking with him about the mileage. The interior is rough, but the mechanicals are all working great.

My daily commute isn't very long, and my main car (2011 Dodge Challenger R/T) needs more time in the garage, so this is going to be a hybrid DD and surf fishing vehicle.

The list of upgrades and replacements is growing by the day, but here is the start:
Already ordered:
Plugs and Wires
New Battery
New Radiator
Add Transmission cooler (scary milkshake stories getting me paranoid :tinfoil3: )
Seafoam
Wet Okole seat covers
Roof basket

Soon to come:
OME suspension
Brakes/rotors (possibly tundra upgrade)
LBJs look good, but probably do them anyway
Floods and spots all around (night fishing)
Fishing cooler rack mount
Bigger tires

I've gone through the master list and new buyers guide and they were a huge help in reviewing the truck prior to purchase. Thanks to everyone that has contributed and made my life a lot easier.

See you all around!

Wow, your Runner makes mine look like a busy gal!

I have an '02 with 295k on her. Sounds like mine is ahead of the game lol. Yours looks like mine as well. You'll love the ride! Congrats!

Hello and welcome and congrats.

That is a great price for a running T4R and you simply cannot go wrong.

Post a couple pix when you can. Most of us here would love to see a $400 running T4R.

Good luck,

Eddie
