For all new members, you can say hi here, please dont litter other threads

Moderator Note:
Please make sure you read the BOLDED portion below. If you break the rules and post a bunch of nonsense posts in a short time just to get your post count up you run the risk of infractions or bans. Thank you.

ok so there is a 15 post min for new members, and this is a subforum for the new members to post up, but that's kinda hard to do when you cant start your own thread to introduce yourself... So say hi tell us a little about yourself, what your looking for here etc. that way you can get started on the way to completing your minimum requirement of posts to proceed to making your own threads and asking your own questions. i will be glad to help where i can and direct you or link you to the proper places or put you in touch with people who can help or know more than me. But please for the love of God don't go into other members threads and start posting crap and nonsense just to get your 15 post min. That min post was created so that spammers, trolls and bots don't come here and litter or clutter up threads and post ads or links etc. so here, i have opened the door for you to post away, but please keep it civil and respectful -that's all we ask.

-i don't even care if you ask repetitive questions or common questions that can be answered by reading the FAQs or a simple search.

Below are some useful hints as to upping your post counts and making friends here and or getting help looking for the answers you seek;
1. complement people on their builds and pics, each section has a picture thread, and tons of great pictures posted up daily, go there and look through them click the like button on the ones you like, people will see your not a bot and everyone likes getting likes -its a win win!
2. if you see a rig you like or think is cool look at the persons signature at the bottom of their post, often times there is a link there to their build or at least a list of mods. click the link and look at their build for ideas, ask relevant questions about their rig. -even if you just skim the thread and didn't read it. and if the OP(original poster) or someone else gives you flack just say "i missed that part sorry" (works everytime, trust me). or you can even post up asking a specific question.
3. every section has a FAQ, so try their first for you questions, you can almost always post up in those links and threads if you dont see your specific question.
4. use the search function at the upper right hand side of the page, just to the left of your screen name and notifications. and hey if you resurrect a 4 year old thread we will all know you used the search feature and are trying.
5. you can also PM members directly to ask questions if you are feeling shy or don't want to publicly ask a question, but this probably wont help you make your min 15 post, but it will help you get your answers.

-there are also several other ways of upping your post count, but i'm not gonna give you all the secrets...

-Please note i am not a moderator or sight administrator, and i can not look into your account for you, or help you activate your account. also it may take a while for your account to "unlock" after your 15 posts have been made, its not an instantaneous "opening of the heavens" and open posting may take a few mins or a couple of hours (your post might have to be up for review to confirm you are not "troll posting". so please don't ask me to unlock your account or something of the like, i simply am a contributing member like yourself trying to make this place a better source/resource of 4runner knowledge.

as always have nice day

at 400 miles on the new 4runner, we took a trip to my college buddies family's property in Boerne for a hog hunt. fun, but what i was really looking forward to was testing out the 4wd, crawl, terrain functions using the trails and power-line ROWs that traverse their property. what a blast! i'm kicking myself for not taking a few vids of some of the steep/loose hill climbs and decents. (that jarring, grinding sound when engages Low speed crawl on flat ground scared the hell out'a me!)

a few lame pics will have to suffice....

nice rig!

I'm not sure that he mean't to literally post "here" on this thread, but rather in the "New Member's" area....

when does this go into effect? and are you a moderator telling us this is whats happening now?

slightly confused... as low post members are still starting threads...

Looks like I was wrong, I guess this thread is the only way for new members to post. Kind of a bummer since it means I have to wade through all the 1st-4th gens to welcome fellow 5th gens :)

you are good and over the post requirements, so this new rule does not apply to you. its for new members that are now coming in. but the advice given applies to anyone new or old.

Hey guys. I've been browsing this site for awhile getting some good info on build projects and tips, finally signed up today.
So I have an '89 4Runner with a 22RE, IFS and I believe it was from the last production run of the removable top before they switched the body style to the 2nd gen. Paperwork says 89, door tag says Oct 88.
Had a lot of fun getting her back to working condition and now it's time to start in with the mods.
Doubtful I'll ever go SAS with this thing but looking forward to getting her dirty. Here's a pic of her. Added some KC fogs to the front since I took this one. More to come!

well welcome to the 4runner place. you will find all sorts of info on all years of 4runners. and dont be afraid to ask questions if you have them. -do you know what year 4runner you are looking for or your price range? new, used?

We'll also be making some new rules for the 15 post count break-in period. They will be found in the new members area soon.

New owner checking in. Been lurking for about a month as I searched for the right third gen. Thanks to this site I was able to avoid a few 4runners that showed some common issues. I bought mine about a week ago:

It's an auto, 4x4. I felt the rims that where on it are a crime against humanity, so here's how it looks now:

I installed TRD FJ rims, new tires and I took the running boards off.

How it looks in 2018
